Not so fast Pedro. Though it does have 400hp, so I guess it's not too bad.

not sure what you are eluding to there but, i'm just saying, everyone was getting so tired of shit-tier cavaliers and neons, and the basic ass economy cars and minivans that the domestic auto industry was giving us and started buying superior japanese cars. it took bankruptcy and a small economic crash for them to realize they needed to stop shitting on their customers

The new Ranger is just going to be a localized restyled version of the Euro/South American Ranger which is already in production and is a classic body on frame truck. Kind of like how the new US market Colorado/Canyon is a restyled variant of the Asian version of the Colorado. The Bronco is going to share the same body on frame platform and will likely be a restyled two door version of the Asian/Euro Ford Everest. They're likely going to have a diesel engine as an option as well. Ford is already testing their duratorq diesels for US emissions approval.

I don't think the Ranger can compete with the current Colorado/Canyon diesel

>23.3 MPG city
>31.4 MPG highway
>7,000lb towing capacity

The only downside is that it's rather heavy, at 4500lbs when spec'd up.

mfw the aftermarket produces a Ranger-Raptor diesel.
>>
>>13893982
It makes a lot of sense if you consider what their competition in the US market will be in a few years.

Jeep is going to give the Wrangler a diesel option when the next generation launches in a year or two and Jeep is also releasing a Wrangler based small/mid sized pickup also available with a diesel engine. The Bronco and Ranger will be Fords answers to these two models

They'll also compete with the GMC/Chevrolet mid size pickup twins.

On top of that, Mercedes is also planning on launching a new small pickup with a diesel engine initially for Latin America and Europe but it's already expected that it'll come to the US too. Mercedes is planning on expanding further into the more affordable non-luxury segment in the near future with their new plant in Mexico so I expect they'll offer a down-market variant to compete directly with these too.
>>
>>13889998
>doggydevito.jpg
>>
>>13892814
Why not? The Ranger competes quite successfully against the Colorado in already existing markets.
2.8 Duramax may get slightly better fuel economy than the Ranger, but the Ranger's 3.2 five cylinder gets a more broad torque curve.

Yeah, this. Realistically it's a Ranger based SUV, so the Explorer name would be a little more fitting IMO, although I guess that's already in use as a lifted Taurus now lol.
Still, the Everest is a decent wagon regardless of whatever it's domestic market name will be.

On that note, there are SUV variants of the Colorado in other global markets. Don't see why that theory wouldn't work the same way Ford is rumoured to be working it.

Ignore the Holden front sheetmetal.

It will probably be restyled though and given a more geometric look. The same way the Asian Chevrolet Colorado looks different than the American version.
>>
>>13894876
Torque curve alone doesn't sell cars
>>
>>13895194
I don't doubt it, although Ford seems to be making an effort to keep their design language relatively global.
On another note, I'm pretty sad out Colorado is stuck with the Asian style, although at least we also have the Isuzu marketed version, complete with the Isuzu 4JJ1 3.0L diesel.
>>
>>13895210
>this singular aspect alone doesn't sell cars
You don't say. Although it's sad that peak numbers on paper are more marketable.
Moot point anyway, as again, the Ranger is very competitive against Colorado in already established markets.

Yeah, it seems like the Asian/Pacific market is getting saddled with bland weird curvy shit because the Chinese like bland designs. The Asian Cruze looks horrible compared to the US version even though it's the exact same car mechanically.

I think the Holden Colorado is supposed to be updated with the US fascia soon, wish we had the 3.0 Isuzu diesel model here but the 2.8 GM diesel we get is pretty good.

If the bronco is going to be solid axle front and rear, kiss the wrangler goodbye.
>implying diesel bronco wouldn't be MY DICK tier
>tfw might possibly be interning at Ford this summer.
>>
>>13895316
South East Asia and Latin America are massive truck markets and the Ranger does very well there. The only other truck that sells better in those places is the Hilux and people really only buy those for their reliability.
>>
>>13895353
>If the bronco is going to be solid axle front and rear
It's not going to be, and there's no reason to believe it will be.
>>
>>13895380

The picture in the OP shows a solid front axle you kek. Also I'm pretty sure the Bronco is being re-introduced in order to compete with the market the jeep has been dominating, the wrangler has had very little completion because its a niche segment.
>>
>>13895398
>The picture in the OP
is an irrelevant artist concept that has nothing to do with anything you droob.
>>
>>13895353
The Bronco will be a unibody FWD based econobox.
>>
>>13895398

Also
>3/4 ton SWB SUV concept image
>Wrangler competition
This is another reason your theory is flawed.
>>
>>13895420
Based on what? It's going to be a derivative of the Ranger platform. Which is a body on frame RWD platform with an AWD diesel option.
>>
>>13895194
Yea, probably going to get restyled. But I find the Everest attractive enough so I hope they don't fuck with it too much. And keep all the Everest options. I want that rear locker goddamn it.
