The Recaro seats in the Ion Redlines (the only Saturns to ever get Recaro seats) are the same seats you'll find in other cars. Actually, it was just a variation on Recaro's aftermarket sport seats.

I have had nothing but saturns for the past 10 years and haven't had any big issues. 1997 sc2, 2002 sc1 & sc2, 1 L series, and 2008 ion. None have burned oil but I wouldn't be the best to ask as I only put 4k miles on each of those cars a year.
They are inexpensive, cheap repairs, good gas mileage, and probably one of the easiest brands to work on.

But the reason I went after the Ion Redline Recaros is for comfort. The stock seats my Ion came with had no support whatsoever. I can at least drive with those recaros for hours at a time and not hurt my back.

My first car was an old saturn sw2. It was a very boring and uninspiring car but it never had any problems, fit everything I owned at the time inside it, and the AC worked. It was also free. RIP in pringles SW2, we had good times.
