spark plugs, valve cover gasket and repainted the valve cover since the factory paint was flaking like crazy.

This weekend is going to be poly bushings for engine transmission and torque if it comes in, wrapping the exhaust manifold(titanium) and the final coat on the valve cover.

You're proud of that pos bracket?

Proud enough to post it online.

That's why some people are plebs and they keep being plebs and that why you keep only dreaming about cars you see on photos, because you lack the commitment and discipline to do stuff the right way.

Replace that front motor mount. If you have any vibrations from the engine it's caused by that front motor mount towards the timing belt. It's a hydraulic style mount and they go out all the time. It creates a real nasty vibration at idle when the car is in gear. It's so common half my customers think it's normal when their Focus vibrates like that.
>>
>>13876235
Wheres the tripcode faglord?

Oh I know, it's part of the reason I'm replacing all of them.

While it's hydraulic I'm replacing them all with FSwerks poly bearings and mounts, the torque strut bushings are pretty much 98% gone, doesn't even exist on the actual motor side.

What I've read is that it will give a slight increase to vibration but the shifting isn't as hard.

But thanks for looking out.

>>13876273

Meant to say bushing. I'm fighting off my melatonin till I'm a bit more tired.

I'm gonna take a shot in the dark and ask if you have any experience with 2012-2013 F150 5.0 engines having knocking issues, and whether or not this is a problem.

No, I left ford in 2012. I work on all makes and models at an indie. Fords that new haven't trickled into my shop yet. We had not seen any major problem yet with the 5.0 at that point when I was at the dealer.
>>
I arranged to buy an MR2. Should be paying for and driving it home later this week before next weekend.

I put new tranny fluid in my DD.
Next weekend, I'm going to look at its plugs and see if I have to make replacements. I think it's running off balance and one of my plugs are getting old.

Scrapped 2 cars, a 95 Escort and 98 Explorer, and bought 3 fresh shitboxes, a 97 LeSabre, 99 Bonneville and 01 Grand Am. Three cars for under $500 so I can't complain.

Plan on racing two of them on Jan first at the local hangover race. If they survive they'll become enduro cars for June.

I have the full vf racing setup on my SVT. It vibrates a lot at idle.

The dogbone takes care of most of the improvements, if that's a concern.

Went ceramic coated instead of wrapped myself.

Haven't seen this before, Limited run?
>>
>>13875622
dude, I can tell you right now, that's no turbo. Clearly it's a supercharger; you can tell from the pixels and the fact that it has a pulley.

Superchargers have pulleys; that has a pulley, ergo, supercharger.
>>
>>13878731
They were discontinued 5 years ago or so I believe. Just the stock header with a high quality ceramic coating.
>>
>>13878828
Nice, I'm attempting to get my cat bolts off, the size is fucking weird. it's smaller then 15mm but 14mm seems to get jammed going on, and the haynes manual doesn't cover this engine.

I'm probably going to have to get a small mapp torch or use my dremel cutter to get the bolts out unless I want to take it to a shop for just 3 bolts. at least I know the pattern for new ones.

Got really bored and let my autism free for about an hour and created a wishlist for my S197.

>>13878852
Nevermind, I just went out and got a decent breaker bar and got 2 of the 3 off so far, did it right after picking up the part so the exhaust was still hot. I know that helped a lot.

Hopefully will have this shit rapped before the end of the day.

>change rear drum brakes
>replace valve cover gasket
>replace alternator
>replace turn signal plastic and bulb
>replace cracked windshield
>>
>>13879773
Good luck. Replaced mine with new nuts and bolts a while back when I had it off. Much better.
>>
>>13880209
That's what I'm trying to do, but not found any new nuts that fit, the ones I just tried are too small so I'm off back to the store.
>>
>>13876108
You shouldn't be, it's terrible, it's also not angle iron , it's flat stock. Unless you purposefully cut the other her portion off.

Should have used square stock or at least angle iron to give it some torsional strength. As well as looking shoddy that looks flimsy af.
>>
>>13875577
that is some nice fabwork m8.
>>
>>
>>13880814
Cut manifold top, removed tstv and plugged bungs, ported/matched carb adapter, cleaned up radius in plenum and gasket matched to head.
>>
>>13880503
>dig through scrap pieces of metal
>thickest metal that isn't overly big square stock is this beautiful orange angle-iron
>mark it and drill it, lop the angle off
>de-bur the edges

It's holding an alternator, it doesn't need to be overly scoocum.
>>
>>13880838
How long do you expect it to look that good?
>>
>>13880856
That's flat bar or flat stock. Since you don't even know what kind of material you're using it was a fine job. The alternator is attached.

>BROTIP: you can cut rec tube or square stock to make c channel or angle to improve rigidity. Also cardboard templates make things easier.

>>13880859
Not long, it's not about looks anyways, you have to clean parts really good before porting or you're gonna make a giant mess and fuck up your bits.

>>
>>13880950
Not only is that drawing hot air, the maf is too close to the filter. Now your engine is breathing heated air and the mass airflow meter in turbulent airflow. At least add more tubing between the maf and filter.
>>
>>13880964
It's a temporary thing.
The battery is going to be moved to the spare wheelwell and the filter is going to sit where the battery is now so it actually draws in some cold air
