It's owrth noting the coupe was North American market only (Canada got the coupe from 2000-2002. The USA got the coupe from 2000-2005, with a facelift in 2003)

Toyota decided that because the Echo/Yaris sold so well in Canada that Canada would get the hatchback from 2003-2005, with the 3 door hatch replacing the coupe. The modifications needed for the car to pass Canadian restrictions makes it legal for US import. To make the hatchbacks meet Canadian regulations, they just used USDM specific parts since it was cheaper.
3 door hatch crash tests are interchangeable with the coupe, and the same with the 5 door hatch and the sedan. The front doors are interchangeable between the 3 door hatch and coupe, and the 4 door hatch and sedan. The only difference is the Canadian gauge cluster reads in Kilometers instead of miles.

Depends, I live in California and ironically for such a gas guzzler they are everywhere.
$2400-2500 for one in alright condition
$4000-$5000 for one close to mint condition
$5000 and up for a clean turbo II
Also quite a lot of mint condition convertible fc's available too for whatever reason.
