How do you shift a tractor pic is relevant I don't rememberer if you come to a complete stop then clutch and shift or what

you shift like a normal faggot
/thread
Depends on the gearbox
A lot of the modern ones are CVT, but most of the tractors you see around are normal transmissions with a clutch, and a low-range gearbox
Not familiar with how the one in the M135 works, but it appears to be a normal automatic with three ranges
I know to put it in high but what about changing the speeds doesn't it go from 1-8
on modern tractors you only use the clutch to take off, then you slide the toggle up and down while driving to determine your gear.
on an old tractor like this, you don't shift on the go, you select a gear, then release the clutch until you are moving and then you are moving.
also remember, you have no gas pedal, just a throttle adjuster.

clutch in, low gear, clutch out, set throttle rod - no "gas" pedal.
roads, clutch in, high gear, clutch out, set throttle.
Also has left and right split rear brake pedals to turn on a dime!

omg its real

yep, that is a tractor pattern. I have driven 4 tractors, and no two have the same pattern. This old Farmall that was my regular ride had a 4 speed h-pattern, but it was mirrored so it was
4 2
3 1 r

So I always clutch before putting it in high or low and do I have to be stopped and on the stick to change to high and low there's two buttons that's have a plus and a minus what are those for
>>13854754
what kind of tractor are you driving? does it have a stick shift or is it button or lever operated?
>>13854753
But why.
>>13854775
Because fuck the system
>>13854713
This confuses and frightens me.
Why on earth would anyone design such a usability nightmare?
>>13854775
>but why
who knows. shift pattern doesn't really matter though, just start in whatever gear you plan on using and throttle up.
>>13854779
>Why on earth would anyone design such a usability nightmare?
you say this now, but when you use them every day the controls are pretty logically set up.
That pic I posted of the m100x inside the cab is exactly what I am driving I'm just not sure how to adjust the speed levels like how to get it into the different levels like 1-8 and if I have to be stopped before adjusting my speed levels
>>13854797
shit mang I don't know. did you talk to the dealership or other drivers or read the manual?
I received extremely poor training and haven't been shown anything really I figured out most of it on my own just cant remember how to adjust the speed I guess it'd be called
>>13854802
I can't help you my man on that, but call the dealership tomorrow.
>>13854779
It doesn't have any extra crap to make the gears follow a logical order.
In other words, it doesn't break. Remember, tractors are designed to last multiple decades.
>>13857525
Cost is the main reason for the tractor simplicity.
No sense developing something that is not necessary to drive tractor prices up when your clientele can hardly afford them anyway.
>>13854779
Just try to use an old John Deere 4010.
That gearing is truly a nightmare without any labeling.
>it was the first tractor I learned to drive
