people in manual statistically crash more often because they try to heel and toe while going downhill to deliver tofu, so insurance companies use that to boost the insurance rates.
>>
>Not finding an old, slow car and swapping it with a proper transmission and motor

It's like you don't know how to under 25.
>>
>>13852191
what
people who do manual are charged more because the only people who give enough of a shit to buy a manual in America is more likely to hoon
>>
>>13852179
Only parts of the civilised world where I'm not certain that youths get buttfucked by insurance are Australia (enjoy your P plate restrictions, Bruce), New Zealand and possibly Japan.

Pretty much anywhere else has enough other issues to more than cancel out any benefits of money saved on car insurance.
>>
>>13852208
insurance rates are blindly governed by statistics. if more people who drive manual get in crashes than people who drive auto, then the manual rates become higher.

which is an unfair statistic in itself, because more people drive auto, and less people drive manual. so it only takes a few manual drivers to fuck things up.
>>
>>13852130
>>male
>>insurance boost
Seriously? Must suck.
>>
That first point is kinda off. While more guys write their cars off women cause far more small crashes, a fender bender might not look bad but body work is stupid priced.

Saw statistics that showed it added up to more for them to pay out in total
>>

Nah, they get fucked for everything else. Massive displacement tax. Taxed for driving old vehicles.

I know we in Europe (or at least, the parts you'd actually want to live in) get fucked pretty hard.

So no, the implication is more likely that you live somewhere whose lax insurance policy is counterpoised by either political repression or lack of economic development. Possibly both.

Civics are higher price too. Something to do with their theft rate being really high.

It sucks but I actually love my car I've tracked it nearly a dozen times and I've added a fair bit to it now and I can't imagine the car not being in my life anymore. One more year on my careless and then I'll get the z and keep the si

And here I was thinking I was overpaying for my Caddy at $100 a month for comprehensive.

Posted this in the womens drivers thread but...

My gf always talks about what a good driver she is because she has a "Safe Drivers License". For those who don't know, it means she's gone 10 years without an accident or ticket and can re-apply for her DL through the mail without any tests.

>Mfw she's hit and run in parking lots, been let off the hook by Cops for no insurance and illegal maneuvers at least 10 times.

This is exactly why women are "statistically" better drivers than men. They flee from accidents and if they're pretty, don't get tickets.
>>
My insurance is based off of my credit score, which is fucking excellent. I'm a 22 year old male driving a '15 Focus ST, and slightly under $100 a month for full coverage, comprehensive and basic collision on a $75 deductible. USA

My dad forced me to get a credit card at 18 going into college and explained how important building credit was. Back then insurance wasn't based on credit score but now it is, and loans below inflation are pretty sweet too.
Thanks Dad.
>>
Get a NA miata, I bought a 92 and insurance is good for being a rwd 2dr convertible, plus aftermarket support is incredible, and cheap compare to other cars
>>
>>13853216
do they ever inspect your vehicle?

$750 deductible not $75

Car insurance is yet another reason to add to my list of why I will never move to Europe.
>>
>>13853299
You need a VIN to insure a car.
Do you own a car?

It's a combination of a few different things.
>males are more likely to total things, women get in more but far less expensive accidents like stop light rear ends and parking lot bumper scuffs
>most statistics are from the 60s and 70s when women didn't fucking drive anyway

also this shit

>>

Washington and everywhere else on the west coast uses sand instead of salt when it does actually snow.

It's not as effective, but at least you don't have to worry about your car getting destroyed by Winter unless you park or drive on Queen Anne Hill in Seattle.

It's great. Great roads with moderate weather. Tons of shipping areas for hooning. Eastern Washington is very hot and very cold and boring. Anything west of the mountains is great. Be prepared for lots of rain. It is expensive in some places though. Where are you at living now?
