>What? Gearing? no bro its because they make more torque

Sure thing.

That's correct.
Torque and gearing are completely unrelated to pushrods. Thanks for clearing up that up.
>>
pushrod engines tend to be bigger so yeah they make more torque
>>
>tfw rotary
>tfw can barely afford gas for this fucking thing
Why did Mazda do this...
>>
>>13848606
Only because they tend to be bigger (e.g. hurr LS1), but pushrods have no direct relation with torque.

Similar torque would be produced with a SOHC setup.
>>
>>13848638
okay...
>>
>>13848650
I'm glad that it's okay.

Pushrod motors have desirable physical characteristics that let you achieve your design objectives not related to efficiency with a confluence of factors that allow for high efficiency.
>>13848638
In a larger, heavier physical package. Factors that are not conducive to efficient design.

except that is wrong
http://www.hotrod.com/how-to/engine/hrdp-1103-how-to-hot-rod-any-engine/

its not that big compared to the stock head and doesnt have the weight of the pushrods, rockers and lifters

Time to stop posting friend.

Torque is important for economy. Not good for city economy because it eats gas sitting at a stoplight. But moving they get the same economy as a Honda

Yeah I'm sure the 5 liter engine gets the same economy as the 1.4 liter engine.
>>

They do on the highway.

No they don't. Not even close. LOL.
>>
>>13848626
god damn it anon its awful
