They got panned by the journos, I know that much. Consensus seemed to be that putting vastly stiffer springs on a boulevard cruiser like the SLK is not going to lead to a decent sports car.
Some owners seem to love theirs, though.

The 2005-2006 SRT-6 was based on the 1996 Mercedes SLK. It was only available in automatic (the 5G-Tronic Mercedes produced from 1990-2003), and even used a Mercedes SOHC V6 M112 engine. Essentially, the SRT-6 was a then-previous-gen SLK AMG with Chrysler body panels.
