Literally being keked by your state

I know this is just a shitposting thread but I think some cars look better with front plates. Fight me in real life.

you can just say irl instead of in real life. it makes it quicker

Front plate required, can have 4oz of weed and 6 flowering plants at home, transport 1oz anywhere.

>I'll take it.
>>
>put front plate on dash
>never receive a ticket

I don't even think it counts as being a front plate but I've never been bugged about it.
>>

Are your normal options so bad you have to import to get anything good?

Within the brand, yes, but there aren't exactly a ton of performance enthusiasts in America buying a Mercedes over something else.
>>
I love seeing nice cars that weren't built for front plates with one basically duct taped on, all lopsided. Hilarious

Don't know how I never get pulled over in the thing. Probably because I have a stock exhaust and I'm white.

oh well

My state requires a front plate, but it's only a secondary offense. That means you have to commit a primary offense before they can tack on anything about a front plate.

Stock headlights were terrible at night, so I put in some projector headlights. Way better visibility with a good cutoff. For some reason, that's illegal for me to do. I think it's because they don't have DOT stamped on them.
>>
>>13834285
It's illegal because they're bullshit, but at least you aren't blinding anyone. What size are those? 7"? You can get legit replacements for it that aren't garbage like the JW Speaker LED luminaires.
>>
>>13834298
Yeah, 7". What's bullshit about them?
>>
>>13834319
Where did you get them? Few companies sell legit projectors outside of a housing, and those projectors are not legal or safe when installed inside of one. Even worse if they are some knockoff or blatantly Chinese projectors because you know they weren't actually employing engineers to produce them.
>>
With video tolling in NY it blows to come in a vehicle that has no front plate and then it fails to read the E-zpass tag RFID so then you have to wait 10 minutes as cars honk at you for a toll worker to come over and manually raise the gate so you can proceed.
>>
>>13834353
Don't remember the name of the company. I think I bought them through GoMiata a few years ago.
>>
>>13834372
Yea, they're lies. Either get Cibie H4 7" upgrade lamps or JW Speaker. Maybe Trucklite if you feel JWS costs too much.

>remove front plate anyway because aesthetics
>get a fix-it ticket
>temporarily slap on front plate

>go home and immediately remove front plate again
I've only had to do it twice over several years. $20 is well worth it. And that's when I had to keep my car on a busy street in plain view of passing cops. Now that I live in a gated apartment with my car in a covered, assigned parking spot, I won't have to worry about that anymore.
>>
I haven't had a real front plate in about 5 months. Been pulled over for other stuff but they never even mention the plate.
>>
>>13834019
No, probably because the cop knows you're a poor pleb virgin driving around in a clown car. He probably feels bad for you.

2 of my vehicles are registered in 2-plate states . Never use the front one because cops honestly don't give a fuck. The only time anybody has mentioned anything is when I drive through the gate at work and rarely (like less than 1% of the time) does the security ever say anything.

>"Yeah, I'll fix it."
>Never do.
>Several months or even years pass and get called out again.
>Give them the same line and play it the same way

Only one of cars is properly plated, but that's because the manufacturer made the bumper to integrate the front plate.

>>
>>13837585
Merriclap here, same story. Cops just don't care in the slightest
>>
>>13837585
I did this and got pulled over for it while driving down the street after work to get gas. I didn't put my seatbelt on because I was driving maybe 100ft down the street but this cop had eagle eyes and somehow saw that I had no seat belt on. Pulled me over and gave me a seat belt ticket which was EXPENSIVE AS FUCK. Told me he didn't really care about the front plate but he does the seatbelt.

Running no front plate is basically free reign to pull you over and find reasons to give you a ticket.
>>
>>13837774
Not wearing a seatbelt is free reign to give you a ticket
>>
>>13837776
No it isn't dumb ass. It's a secondary offense in a majority of the states that have seat belt laws. Police can't pull you over for it.

Man living in Germany sounds great, sure you will never own a fun or interesting car, even shitty cars cost twice as much to buy, fuel, and insure, and modifying them is illegal/impossible. BUT I could go the same speed that I already do on American highways and instead of a .01% chance of getting a speeding ticket it would be 0%. Sure I could go drive on amazing twisty roads or at the track here in the US, neither of which is possible for normal people in Germany (as their main race track with public access has speed limits and tons of traffic), but that's not really fun, what is fun is driving fast in a straight line in traffic, that's why Germany has the US beat.
>>
>>13839141
>twice as much to buy
Incorrect.
>fuel
Correct, but in return our daily commutes aren't spread out like diarrhea so the average German driver only needs to drive half as much as the average American driver, meaning the same fuel costs as a share of their income, also LPG is the equivalent of around $3 a gallon in Germany if you still insist on driving cheaper.
>insure
Incorrect unless you're a notorious crasher. Also traffic violation points don't affect your insurance in Germany.
>>
>>13837995
Good job using that greentext there m8
>>
>>13834165

>>
>owning a car designed for a front plate
Lol, I'm in a state requiring one, but car was not designed with bumper to house one. Don't legally have to have it.

I get constant parking tickets by retarded patrol. Just sent them in with paperwork. Not really a problem
