I give up /o/ I'm looking to buy my first car, have about £6,000, I just can't anything I like.

Ford Fiesta's your best bet. Just buy a car outright for 3-4K, and spend the rest on insurance and fixing it.
You won't find a used car that doesn't need four new tires within three months. And it'll probably need some more work down the line.
A Fiesta is a fine car. Goes well, handles great, carries a surprising amount of stuff. It'll give you an idea of what you want in a car.

Pick up a small hatchback with a 1.4 or less in solid condition for £1500 or so. Run it for a year or so and build up a no claims, THEN buy something decent.
As a Brit new driver, £6000 won't get you into anything good; spending more will only get you into something slightly less bad than average, like a 1.6 Civic or some shit. You're much better saving your money and buying a proper car later.

>implying £6000 will buy a mini in serviceable condition even before mods

I wouldn't want a mini anyway they look like ass desu.

>First car
Go on Car and Classic and find a Rover Metro or Rover 25. Pay no more than £600 cause the first years insurance is financial rape.
Drive your Rover for 2 years minimum, preferably at least 3. Then buy something good
>But anon I have £6000 and it's burning a hole in my pocket!
So go buy an Automatic NA Supra for £5995 and spend another 20 grand insuring it

>Fully undersealed, no rust
You can take this off my hands for £6K. You'll probably get fucked by the insurers though.
I should clarify as I was a bit vague, I'm already driving a Renault Megane Coupe (car sharing), it's just I don't like it very much and it's getting old, how much would I have to spend for something decent?
>>13826518
How many years no claims do you have?
The answer is anything less than 2, refer to my last post here >>13826487
>>13826530
Eh I guess I'll just stick with this shitbox then. I spent the last 3 days looking at shit on autotrader and literally everything is trash.
>automatic
Senpai plz

Build up some no claims first mate, trying to get a fun car with none is pointless if you're under the age of 50

>look through thread
>No one suggested a Twingo
>>13826587
I'm already driving a Renault i don't need another.
What are you prepared to pay insurance wise? This is the main thing that'll limit what you have available to you.

They were never sold in UK afaik.
>6k
You can buy clean as fuck 200SXs for that money.
As long as you're 20+ years old you'll be able to afford insurance.

>mfw bongs get fucked by insurers for "hot hatches"
>>13826716
Bong insurance is pretty much the same as the US one from what I've been reading on /o/.
You're under 20 with no previous experience, you get fucked on it, simple.
