The FWD ones have a great chassis and the engines are bulletproof... but the automatic transmissions are total trash
>>
Pontiac Grand WOAH WOOOAAAAAAAHHHH
>>
>>13821882
Pretty much this. Total slushboxes. My sister's ex used to have a Baretta that I hooned in while I waited for parts, that shit was fun.
>>
>>13821902
The Beretta is an L-body. The Grand Prix is a W-body.

The L-body seems to be a combination of the J and N-body chassis's

>tfw have a 93 one not too far from me I could buy, on the second owner, 143k miles, but it's automatic

I mean, he wants 1200. thats not too bad really...

>>13821959
since when?
>>
>>13821962
since only toothless white trash crack heads drive them?
>>
>>13821962
>but it's automatic
Good luck finding a manual W-body. They're out there (and 1993 was the LAST model year a manual was available) but the manual cars sold so bad they're fucking unicorns.
>>
>>13821959
Juggalos drive J-bodies. Cavis and Sunfires.
>>
>>13821966
It's like trying to find a manual Lincoln LS.
>>
>>13821974
Manual Lincoln LS's exist?
I honestly did not know that.
>>
>>13821974
I found a manual early 90's town car once. I didnt know manual steering column shift was a thing
>>
>>13821977
Only the V6, and they only made them for a year or two then stopped due to no demand.
>>
>>13821968
do a quick gis for juggalo grand prix
>>
>>13821986
There has never been a factory manual Lincoln Town Car, especially from the '80s on.
>>
>>13821992
I mean, the labels say manual, I guess it could be wrong

picture isnt good enough to make out either way
>>
>>13821872
They're cool with the 3800S/C, the 4t65e transmission is a piece of shit though, ask me how I know.
>>
>>13821989
theres literally only 1 hit, and it seems to just be a tasteless back window sticker
>>
>>13822001
That's just the factory column shifter and a incorrect listing.

I used to own a '95 Town Car.
>>
>>13822001
what are you talking about, you mongoloid? Just look at the fucking picture--it's an automatic with the shift on the tree. Do you really think there are 1995 town cars with column-shift manuals? nigga those were the skinflint special in the 1970s, and the only place you'd see one after 1980 would be in a fucking delivery van
>>
>>13822004
only 1997+ models got the 3800 at all
1988-1996 models had a choice of the: 2.8L MPFI V6, 3.1L MPFI V6, 3100 SFI V6, 3.4L DOHC LQ1 V6, or the 2.3L DOHC Quad 4 I4 (Quad 4 cars are 1989-1991 only and unicorns just like manual transmission cars)

I didn't realize. to be honest, my 3800 and 4t65e is in a Fiero, so I'm not exactly the most knowledgeable on grand prix's I just like Pontiacs in general.

The supercharged 3800 model was the direct replacement for the 3.4L DOHC LQ1. 1991-1996 GTP's got the twin cam V6.

Oh I also missed an engine. 1989-1990 models were available with a rare 3.1L Turbocharged and intercooled V6 (which made 5 less HP than the N/A 3.4L twin cammer that replaced it). Pic related.
>>
>>13822049
It's also of note that the turbo V6 was done by the SAME people who did all the upgrades to the Buick GNX
>>
>>13822049
My friend had one of the DOHC GTPs, honestly pretty underwhelming stock.
>>
>>13822049
that looks nice

the front end on op's just looks so weird. I cant get over it
>>
>>13822064
I own a Monte Carlo Z34, Chevy version with the DOHC V6. I adore that engine. makes a great noise, makes great power, and it's decently quick. You have to remember the engine was released in 1991, back when Chevy was still sticking 305's in Camaro's. At the time, the V6's performance was astounding. It could eat 305 V8's. This was at a time when if you wanted a powerful engine from GM, you either had to get an LQ1 V6 car or a Corvette
>>
>>13822093
>It could eat 305 V8's

No a 305 T5 car would leave it, while the DOHC motor sounds good on paper it was slower than the 3.8L even in N/A form.
>Compared against the last-tested 3.4-liter Z34, our '98 model's 0-60-mph time shaves off 0.3 second for a 7.5-second run.

Meanwhile the 305 was running high 14's since the mid 80's.

>3.8L even in N/A form.
actually, it's well documented among w-body fans that the 3.4L DHC is faster than the 3800, depending on how you're measuring it.
The 3800 car is a tenth or so quicker to 60 due to having more low end grunt, but the 3.4L is a revver, and as such is faster through the 1/4 mile time and time again. To have any shot of beating the 3.4L down the drag strip, the 3800 needed to be supercharged.

As to 305's running high 14's...

So can LQ1 cars

Had one. Ran pretty well/smooth until it started breaking down, at which point I couldn't save it. Ignition fucked up, microleaks all over the engine, etc. I imagine it would still be here if I bothered to take care of it but I saw a stupid poor kid when I got it and gave no fucks.

That being said, you'll get 20 mpg no matter what you do. Baby it, floor it, hoon it, stop-n-go traffic, highway cruising, whatever. 20 mpg.

*was

Holy Freudian slip, Batman!
>>
>>13823611
if its got the 3.1L Turbo or the 3.4L DOHC, you'll struggle to get higher than 18 MPG
