Why shouldn't i buy a CRZ as a daily driver? This fucker here has under 10k miles and is being offered at 13k. I know the car isn't fast but am hoping it can still be fun when commuting, i want something relatively new. thoughts?

Not from Honda you don't, unless you mean like brand new.

If you want a sport hatch, get a used mazdaspeed3
>>
>>13820415
They aren't any fun to drive. They got the looks PERFECT, but everything else is shit. The chassis is shit, the engine is shit, the transmission is shit, the suspension is shit.

If you want it because it looks good, fine. But it's an economy car and nothing else. It isn't fun to drive by any stretch. The only things going for it are looks and reliability.

it wouldn't be anywhere near same price with such miles and i want a manual
>>13820446
Well with buying this car at such a low price that leaves me some room to upgrade some suspension, tires, maybe even that honda supercharger that comes with extended warranty
>>
>>13820480
The suspension/chassis is shit because it's the same chassis/suspension as the Honda Fit. Had it been based on the Civic instead, I wouldn't have had as many complaints.

Honestly, your first mod should be to de-hybrid the thing.

>>13820530

i wish

The Mazdaspeed3 was manual only...
>>
>>13820539
what about the price?
>>
>>13820548
You probably won't find a low mileage one, but for the price in op, you should be able to get a perfectly fine one.
You can get a lot of decent enthusiast cars for that price.

A used 2007-2009 model should be able to be found around 10k.
alternatively, try to find a 2008-2010 Chevrolet Cobalt SS Turbo. Yes, it has a macpherson strut front and torsion beam rear just like the Fit/CRZ but it's SO much better controlled having been tuned on the Nurburgring. The SS Turbo was manual only, is great fun to drive, and came with a 260 HP 2.0L Turbo. You can get a stage 1 tune for it at the dealer too to bump power to 290 HP. Cobalt SS Turbo is about the same price as that CR-Z. The only thing the CR-Z has over the Cobalt is the interior quality.
>>
>>13820575
SHILL much?
The cobalt is an unreliable turd.
>>
>>13820581
The Cobalt is mechanically solid. It's recommended on the sticky for that very reason. Quality isn't all that high but it's mechanically bulletproof.
>>
>>13820575
>>13820588
cobalt tarbo would be hard to find and way overpriced

You can get an 05-09 Legacy GT/Outback XT for $10-14k, and they will blow the doors off of a CR-Z while also being more comfy, practical, and better looking.

The CRZ looks like they optimized an AMC Gremlin in a wind tunnel, even that lesbian mobile looks 100x better

Buy a corolla pre 1998
>>
>>13820593
It would be hard to find, but it isn't overpriced.

It's reliable. Get over it.

Since you're probably one of those amerifats that hates wagons without good reason, here's the sedan.

nah if he was gonna mod it making the electric side more powerful would be the thing to do drivetrain wise
besides maybe putting a hotter cam in it
>>
>>13820701
One does not simply cam an L15 Honda engine, particularly the CR-Z variant. First performance mod should be converting the engine from an atkinson cycle to a conventional otto cycle.

doesn't that require a cam though?
>>
>>13820824
yes, but you also need to tune the ECU... and there's no way to reflash the CR-Z's ECu to my knowledge.
>>
>>13820415
If you wanted something like this, you don't actually want something like this. Even the "it's not a Yaris, it's a Prius C" would be ugly and unfun but cheap entry cost and save you dosh.

A Fiesta is the superior car because it's fun and peppy and cheap. It also isn't embarrassing like a Sonic/whatever-they-call-the-Aveo-these-days. Still, an Aveo type car at least makes you appear to be an adult, and not a misguided teen.

As for the guy saying Cobalt SS, yes, yes, a thousand times, yes!

Pretty much, the CR-Z is an arbitrary two-seater that doesn't go fast and isn't really that cheap. You look like a big dork in it. It isn't fun.
>>
>>13820888
>an Aveo type car at least makes you appear to be an adult
No. Fiesta, fuckus, aveo, mazda2, cobalt, versa, etc all make you look like a teenager/college student.
>>
>>13820415
Is CRZ better than Lancer?
>>
The CRZ is not entertaining to drive like a CRX. It is also not economical as such a small hybrid should be.

Just get a four door insight or a prius.
>>
>>13820575
Cobalt is probably the shittiest handling car I've ever driven holy shit.
It's worse than most SUVs.
