I am thinking of buying a used BMW E92. Any tips? What should I look for and what are the most common problems in them?
>>
>any tips
yea, go to an e92 forum

>most common problems
Jelly poorfags stealing your roundel, keying your paint and talking shit on /o/.

Personally I'd only get one of it had the i6 engine.
>>
>>13816690
is right
an i4 engine on this car is fucking useless

if you cant afford a i6 than get something else, for example e46 or e81/e87 with i6

dat water pump + thermostat
dem valve cover gaskets
dose suspension bushings
dem electrical gremlins

its actually pretty reliable but when things do break, parts are expensive and the repair is difficult

try to get a 2009+ model, a lot of the little things were fixed by then
>>

in murrica they only came in i6 configurations
the 335 is a twin turbo i6 (n54), later versions were a twin-scroll turbo i6 (n55), which was more reliable but not as much tuning potential

the guibo and center bearing will go around 100k as well as the electric water pump. If you have an awd model youll need to possibly replace the front drive shaft in the xdrive system. make sure you get it inspected before you get it. I recently got one and theres three bolts in the oil pan that are cracked off and one on the engine mounting bracket that is also cracked off. other than that theyre pretty good cars just keep them oiled and youll be set for at least 200k

i'd like to sell it soon so i can take advantage of buyers panic buying AWD stuff because boston winter

the 540i wagon is my daily now and it's awesome, once i fix some stuff it'll be even better

Probably their illegal Mexican servant's car that broke down in the driveway because she didn't change the oil after 50,000 miles

any recent pics of either? i forgot about that 540i dude, shes clean. I just seen the most pristine example of a 09 clk350, like off the lot clean... i might pull the trigger but i might need to consult LPG or mightybenz . was also thinking about a e92 328i coupe or a e36 m3

i haven't taken a picture of my e91 in like 6 months
my initial puppy love faded quickly as it hit me how much insurance+payments were draining me. damn newly licensed driver insurance costs, paying $290 a month for pretty mediocre coverage

Common problems?

HPFP taking a shit and wiling out your injectors.

Other than small trim shit breaking its a pretty fun car. Install a methonol injection kit and crank boost.
>>
>tips
don't buy one

>what should i look for
a different model

>what are the most common problems in them?
everything. cooling. electrical. engine. turbos. you name it.
>>
>>13816678
Depending on mileage, replace the cooling system (i.e water pump, radiator, thermostat) and it should be all good. The only reason BMWs or any car really breaks is if people don't know even basic knowledge of car maintenance.

DO IT
328i or 335i
>>
>>13822641
Why the fuck is the timing chain on the rear of the engine? Wow, total shit engineering move there.
>>
>>13816678
I currently drive an '08 335 four door and the only reason I still have it is because I bought an extended warranty with the car. Within one year of purchasing it I had to replace a turbo, fuel pump, ignition coils, water pump, thermostat, multiple seals. The motor itself has proved to be pretty solid it's just the peripheral parts that fail every 2 weeks.
