RWD is super lame and i cant afford any of the 1,000-5,000 cars
>>
>>13811218
those pricings need to be updated

and perhaps the g35 added
>>
>>13811233
it is from 2012, but most of the prices work in my area, so I think it mainly depends on what area you are in.
>>
Get a miata,e30,e36 or civic all fine cars
>>
>>13811244

none of this are available
>>
>>13811218
Actual OP here. Thanks. Going to take a look at these and search on good ol' Craigslist
>>
best of advice i can say is get what ever YOU like, dont listen to /o/. no matter what you get they'll tell its shit and get a miata, just do some googling prior to what make/model you get to find common problems
>>
>>13811314
miatas are boring too me
like I bought a civic instead of one

>want an NA/NB Miata
>don't know how to drive Manual

Is there any hope for me, bros?
>>
>>13811488
Learn how to drive a manual, it's easy enough.
>>
>>13811508

This is true. I learned in a shitass 98 Sportage. I drove to work the same day, after only a half hour of practice. You won't be smooth at first, and you'll probably stall at lights/stopsigns, but you would be amazed at how patient people are when they see people stall - even here in the states, AND in north NJ.
>>
>>13811488

>want a miata
why
>>
>>13811488
there are some souper rare auto miats.
but the better bet is to learn how to drive manual. it's fun as fuck son.
>>
>>13811218
>that sea of red
That's actually really pleasing to look at Anon
>>
>>13811534

Certain cars should never be manual. Pretty much ever "driver's" car. And a Miata certainly falls under that category.

Don't get an auto Miata.
>>
>>13811545

I obviously meant certain cars should only be manual/never be automatic.
>>
>>13811076
SW20 or an STi... because that's what I would buy.
>>
>>13811626
oh wow how extremely impractical

hey senpaitachi how's this look:

How much $ would I have to spend on it to get it to a weekend-driver status?

>>
>>13811545
I totally agree. I was just pointing out they made some auto miatas. can't change what's already been done.

>>13811658
>autotragic ;^)
looks like shit desu, but it's cheap. I'd try to talk'em down to 1k.

>tfw drive auto
>tfw miss manual
>want to buy cheap manual "fun" car
>"it's a waste of money anon"
>"focus on buying other things anon"
>"you don't need 2 cars anon"

>>
>>13811726

This is true. Luckily, they didn't sell well. rekindles the hope in people a tad.

Also, regarding the beat-ass people telling you not to get a second car: fuck 'em. If it's affordable for me one day, I will get an NA Miata as a second car.
>>
>>13811113
This. Civics are the go-to reliable DD for the everyman.
>>
>>13811218

Lol if I could find an STi, Evo, GTO, or FD for less than 15k, I'd be on that shit so hard. Too bad all of those go for over 20k except maybe the GTO.
>>
>>13811737
true. probably because their demographic wasn't casuals but rather middle class car enthusiasts.
the reality of it though, is that they're probably right. I can't afford it right now. but I will later.
>>
>>13811889

You're better off waiting then. The fun you'd have with it would be constantly dragged down by the burden of its cost. Once you can afford it, then go all out.

90s stis and evos can be had under 15k any time. FD under 15k if you have 3k+ ready to rebuild the engine and replace all the old and broken turbo crap
>>
>>13811794

but thats not what they are asking for or want you asshole

stop treating everyone like they just want A-B

if you're willing to do some minor upholstery. Or major, add doesn't show the insides.
There are a lot for sale with an asking price of 16-17k, you could probably jew that down to 14k if you can find enough wrong with it.
>>
>>13811076
What's your budget?
>>
>>13813067
No more than $4-5k, preferably. I just need it to drive 3-4 days out of the week. Not a DD just yet. My job requires I travel a lot, and they pay for my rental cars.
>>
>>13813117
How mechanically inclined are you, and how willing are you to learn?
>>
RX7 FC.
>b-but engine rebuilds! b-but maintenance! b-b-but apex seals!
Remove any turbo that it comes with. Use pre-mix. Maintenance is exaggerated, you just need to take care of the engine and it'll last a long time. If you do need to replace the apex seals, the engine isn't even large or complicated.
>>
>>13813199
Cars are my worst skill. If I were in a do or die situation and I had to fix something on a car, I'd surely die.

I'm willing to learn though. Once I hey my own place, I'd love to read, watch, and mess around with cars so I can do my own repairs instead of paying someone else. Also, I have a good close friend who is a gearhead, and his dad is too. So I have connections and close mechanics, but yeah I'm shit at actually fixing and working on them.

Im.also trying not to finance anything. Lookin to pay with cash.
>>
>>13813238
I'd recommend the foxbody or either a 9-3 or 9-5 aero, or maybe a turbo volvo. Or you could continue saving up cash and get something a bit nicer, that's always an option.
>>
>>13813291
Ok. Thanks for the tips. Dunno when I'm buying yet. Winter is right around the corner and I don't wanna have a car on the street getting wrecked by snow and salt and other shit

Damn. The Saab's look nice.

Also, is it better to buy from a private owner than a dealer, or vice versa? Or does it not matter? Off the bat I'd think private dealers are better since they personally know the car, and my dad's always said dealers suck.
>>
>>13811488
if girls can into manuél transmission, then so can you
>>
>>13811076

Buy an ATV, you can just drive not on the roads then and you can really beat traffic. =^)
