How do I remove this rotor senpai?
>>
Pop off that center cap first. Then remove a cotter pin and castle bot (if uses those) and the bearings will come out as yu pull off the rotor.
>>
id make midas or some place do it
you have to pull the hub for that one
this is not really dyi

Haha they really aren't that bad. They just look fucking weird.
>>
>that dangling brake.

Fucking ziptie it to something you hack, come on.
>>
>>13810742
But HOW does that happen?
>>
>>13810751
It looks like it's sitting on the ground, not dangling. Calm down, please.
>>
>>13810765
It looks like it's pulling on the brake line

any tension at all on the line is bad so hang it with some string or wire bitch

whats that a maxima?
>>
>>13810763
Heating/cooling stress, bad metal, etc. Same as how a cheap stovepot will crack after enough use. It's rare, but it does happen.
>>
>>13812526

OP here, I suspect it was from regularly driving a 5 ton vehicle over I-70 with steep grades the whole way.
>>
>>13813449
Yup that would put some heat in them.

I assume you eventually got the dust cap off, pulled the hub, swapped the rotor?

All Maximas have 5 lugs. Maybe a Sentra.

it would look fucking sick if they painted it, otherwise it just kind of blends in
>>

Removing a hub isn't DIY? Are you shitting me?

What are you even doing on this board?
>>
>>13810489
This is just good bait, right?
>>
>>13813460

Nah, one piston in the other side was completely fucked, so I ordered lines, pistons and rotors all around then limped the RV back to its storage spot. I'm debating on getting new calipers or not.
>>
>>13813460
>Yup that would put some heat in them.
Shouldn't be enough to do that. These are heavy iron. Probably got them extremely hot and then got some really cold water on them.
>>
Protip: Flip the hub over and place the wheel studs back into the wheel you took off. Kneel on the tire to prevent it from rotating and you can unbolt the rotor from the hub easily.

I tried that two days ago on a rwd S10, just trying to get the wheel bearing off. The puller shattered. The S10 owner ended up paying a shop to torch the bearing off. I felt bad I couldn't get the bearing off the truck, but the mechanic looked rather shocked that the brand new puller broke.
>>
>>13818217
I forgot to add, it was a front wheel bearing.
>>
>>13812484

See the steering linkage? Not a duel wheel. It does have duels in the back.

This, i did my fronts this weekend, and calipers and balljoints.
