I tried learning stick, but my timing is awful, and I wish my mother weren't so insistent on teaching me to drive on an automatic all those years ago. I'm thinking about going to one of those driving schools just to learn manual.

I hate people on this board who think recommending a brand of car is "shilling". But in retrospect, I wish companies would pay me money to shill on a Sri Lankan Stilt Fishing board.
>>

As the guy you're replying too, I sort of agree, but I think especially on the ND it looks amazing given it's giant smiling grille. The NA looks happy, confused, nervous, or scared depending on the angle, but the ND with popups always looks like it's having such a great time. How can you not have fun spending time inside such a qt3.14?

I bought a manual with less than two hours of practice a month ago and stalled it more than three times on the way back because I didn't get that it was okay to slip the clutch a bit.

I still rev up to around 2500 RPM before I start letting the clutch out.

I have never driven anything with more than 4 cylinders
I have never driven anything other than FWD
I learned manual at 24, in the car that I used to get my license and my current DD (25 now)
I still can´t get the car moving in 1rst gear in a reliable way, sometimes the car shakes, sometimes I almost stall, sometimes I over rev the engine. All subsequent shifts go nice and smooth.
I go neutral and use brakes instead of engine breaking
I´v forgotten most of what daddy taguth me about fixing engines n shit
I installed LED headlights, they have the same beam pattern as halogens tho.
I have replaced all but my turn lights with LED bulbs, high quality tho
Once I blew a tire to a curb and blamed lazy construction workers, said they left a piece of metal leaving around.

Why? Neither my GSX-R or TL idled that high.

Yeah. Rather, I'm not really letting it out right at 2500, I blip up to there and come out on the clutch reeeeally slowly, then give it more gas. I'm not launching, but I know the clutch is probably gonna be shot pretty soon... Trying to get better at it. I always feel like it dies or lugs way too much when I try to let it out and hit the throttle.. I'm probably just not giving it enough gas.

(Should probably go practice that, I'm picking up a girl later...)
>>
>>13810127
Let it out right up to the biting point, then add some gas and slowly let it out the rest of the way.
Best of luck, anon.

I could specify that I like the cars and I believe that they fill a nice gap in the market for people who want a taller ride than a wagon can offer, AWD being pretty much standard and a great help during winter and decent amounts of space

The "problem" is that the main focus of marketing seems to be towards people who live in cities and have no need of any of that, and would infact be better served with a normal wagon or similar

Crossovers done right are cool. Unfortunately most of them aren't. Also, the marketing, like you say.

>50/50 even drivetrain split 100% of the time

>fucking greenhouse interior, giant windows
>frameless doors because why the fuck not

The thought tickles me but it doesn't support the other person's argument because the EXT basically is also a pickup truck, and not a pretty one at that, at least the second gen.

Second gen Avalanche > First gen EXT > First gen Avalanche > Second gen EXT

I really don't know how Cadillac could force this absolutely god awful looking front on the Escalade for eight fucking years.

Is the midgate mechanism any different on the first gen, or improved on the second gen?

I really dig the concept the Envoy XUV because the midgate window and tailgate window and roof section retract electronically, you only have to fold over the rear seats and fold down the midgate manually, unlike the lego puzzle job you have to do on Avalanches and EXTs.
>>
Also to an extent I admire the persistent rebadging business over at GM because you can swap a ton of interior and exterior parts between different models, for example to create a GMC Sierra EXT.
>>
>>13811671

Look on the bright side: your failure to invest in a garage will mean that your car will rot as fast as it would if you were driving it at least five time as much!
