I always thought it was hilarious how assblasted people get about the number of cylinders for this car. Those people don't know that Chrysler didn't have a good V8 at the time and the V6 was lighter and powerful than the Magnum V8. There was no point in making the car slower and handle worse just so that it can have two more cylinders.

The Prowler was a Chrysler model for a couple years, so I don't see why they'd do this even if you don't apply logic.
>>
>>13807898
The Magum V8 would have never made it into this car. The 4.7 maybe, they should have just done an 8 cyl casting of the Viper V10 for it. Inb4 that is a magnum 5.9, I'm saying an aluminum casting with a high end power intake instead of the torquey intakes the Magnum had
>>
>>13812348
Well the thing with the PowerTech V8 was that it was ready for the road just as the Prowler was on its way out in 2002. It was too little too late.

I'd also like to point out that the spokes on the wheels definitely look like penises.

The problem is it's a street legal, DOT and NHTSA allowable hot rod. It's like Mormon-approved sex. Whats the fucking point?

Funny, I see cars at the coffee and donuts sunday gettogether without bumpers all the time.

Whether or not they get ticketed for it is another thing, but it IS illegal to drive a car without a bumper.

The issue with removing bumpers is you're removing safety equipment. If you get into an accident and someone dies or is injured you'll get sued. You'll likely loose the lawsuit solely because you "tampered with safety equipment."

That said these do look the sex without the front bumpers.
>>
>>13819625
I imagine if you hit someone hard enough to kill them, whether or not you have bumpers is irrelevant at that point.

believe it or not, that was a production car. model years were 1997 and 1999-2001. They skipped 1998 because it was the 1 year Chrysler stopped making their 3.5L SOHC V6 that the Prowler used.

I've seen some pictures of modified Prowlers that I really liked. Open engine bay, 5.7 swapped in with the six speed manual from a Charger, big semi slicks, and side pipes.

The problem for me is just the engine. Even swapping a 318 into it would make it so much better. I'd love to get one of these things just to turn it into a proper hot rod.

Now that we've got all the boomers together in one thread let's kill them
>>
>>13832742

Not all boomers are bad. I was eyeballing a beautiful red FD out in the far area of a grocery store parking lot when a boomer and his wife came and asked me if I liked it.

I told him it was a beautiful ride and that he was lucky. He asked me if I wanted to buy and he gave me a price of 16k with 28k original miles on it. He was an engineer from the university I was attending at the time and there was no way I could afford it.

designed by tom gale. its not a god machine. its a piss poor tribute to the hot rod...

if it was supposed to be a hot rod why did they give it a underpowered v6? most hot rods are v8's

if it was supposed to be a hot rod why did they price it out of the market of young people?

if it was a hot rod why did they make it in limited numbers?
>>
>>13833381
