Whats a good place to look for one of these?
I need a cheapish commuter car that i can build a small sleeping platform inside of and these Civic Wagons fit the bill.
CL is kinda shit and all the forums ive looked at have been even worse.

Would prefer an AWD one but FWD works too.
Dont worry im not going to mod it, just keep it stock for the most part.

Pic related, fuck those wheels though

pretty much this. What killed so many of those off was rust.

You can convert any Civic to AWD, but you need the rear trailing arms from one of those EF RTAWD Wagons. Everything else can be grabbed from a Honda CR-V, which was the Civic wagon's direct replacement.
>>
>>13803420
I live in California so no rust here.
And hmm i didnt know the CRV parts could transfer over, cool beans.
Still i just want to know if CL is my best bet for finding a Civic Wagovan.
The enthusiast forums are either dead or they want more for their projects than the random idiots on CL.

until I believe the third generation model, CR-V's were always based on the Civic, making them good donors for converting Civic's, and Integra's to AWD.
The first gen CR-V parts are sought after because it allows the use of a B-series engine with AWD.
Second gen CR-V parts are sought after because it allows the use of a K-series engine with AWD. And yes, second gen CR-V's are based on the 7th gen Civic, so theoretically, you could convert a 7th gen Civic EM2, ES1, or EP3, or an RSX to AWD.

If I went with a pre-2001 Honda to modify, it'd be either a CA Accord, or a first gen CR-V

Thats really tempting honestly.
What part of WA?

And heres the thing, does it still have the Smog equipment?
You know cause of Cali and its shit Smog laws
>>
>>13803688
"smog equipment" on these gen civics was like a charcoal canister. I never removed it but IDK if its still there because I never fucked with it. You could probably even get a CARB certification for the turbo bits because it says "edelbrock" on the manifold.

According to the EPA website, fueleconomy.gov, 19 mpg city, 23 highway, 21 combined.

a late 80's Civic wagon isn't much better with 22 city, 24 highway, and 23 combined.

The difference in fuel economy can easily be explained. The Civic wagon got a 1.6L D-series engine. The CR-V got a 2.0L B-series engine.

>>
>>13804165
Eh nvm dude, id rather not deal with that.
Ive already had to get rid of 2 cars that wouldnt pass Smog and its an annoying time consuming process dealing with it.
Thanks for the offer though.

thefucknigger

My wagon gets 29-32mpg in town on premium with 20 pounds of boost, 45ish highway.

Even before boost I got about 35.

why those numbers so off for old sivek
>>
theyre pretty hard to find even in the southwest. i dont think they sold a lot of them. even hard to find one not pre-riced.

blame the EPA. most people are reporting between 26 and 30 mpg for first gen CR-Vs from what I'm seeing.
>>
>>13804476
I really dont believe that.
Theres no way a CRV gets the same mpgs as my truck
>>
>>13804721
that's what the EPA site says. Like I said here, most owners report closer to 30 mpg

Can you convert any Civic to AWD that isnt weak and doesn't suck ?
>>
>>13804909
There have been numerous AWD conversions with well over 500 HP and I have never heard of one breaking. The CR-V's AWD system is a lot more stout than people give it credit for. It helps that I think only 20% of the power gets sent to the back.

My neighbor has that car. It's white and looks bone stock but in really good condition. I always thought it was weird as we live in a high end development, he has a range rover and M5 so it always looks out of place. Is there anything special about this car? I don't even know the model.

Does CR-V stand for Civic Recreational Vehicle?
>>
just get civic hatch.
the wagons would be harder to find parts for and buying one would be harder because all the stancefags would try get one.

like especially since you live in stancefaggot central, california, then trying to find one would be even harder.

the extra space isn't really that much either

Yes
