The mountain road widths were just fine. Carbon was really just an extension of Most Wanted and the fact that it didn't include compulsory cop events in career mode like in Most Wanted was just awful. The world map was lacking too because despite there being a lot of emphasis on touge runs the mountain roads were not part of the free roam map, for some reason. It just feels as kind of an unpolished game, and I know what you mean by end of NFS because it really lacked content. Despite all this I still enjoyed it.

Most Wanted was a lot more balanced in its events, the cops in Carbon were just there to annoy you and served no real purpose besides that. The canyon runs were a cool new addition and the visual customization was better, but the vehicle tiers were really disappointing. The best part of Most Wanted to me was maxing out the Punto I picked at the start, painting it bright pink and then winning the final race against Razor with that.

Underground 2 has the best customization and captures that feeling of "2004 2fast2furious ejecto seat cuz rice body kits neon everywhere while listening to ludacris" that I'm pretty nostalgic for. It's a classic and fan favorite for good reason, but shows its age a little.
Most wanted is the pinnacle of the series gameplay wise, the cop chases are amazing and carry the game. The racing is great, the map is great, the careers pacing is great, but the customization will leave you wanting more. (Only one vinyl per car for instance)
Carbon is most wanted's formula with less emphasis on the police chases, but more rounded out customization and car list. The games shining point is the downhill togue boss battles, pass to win like initial d. They're no nitrous, no slow mo no nonsense battles that get your knuckles white and sweat rolling down your brow.
They're all worth playing but all have strengths and weaknesses. Most wanted is generally agreed on as the king though.

I'd say it's on a similar level as Midnight Club LA, but I've never played Horizon. It's pretty fun for the most part. My only real complaints at the moment are the steering, how drift-based the handling is, the vinyl editor, and no manual. Hopefully that's all stuff they can fix, but by the time they actually do it, I'll probably be done with the game.

It honestly depends what you want from the game. For me i played the beta and spent 70% of it in the wrap editor and customizing cars. To me its worth it so if you like custom cars and drifting, the racing is there but its just a bonus to go race with your friends. I also think the always online is shitty

Considering I do not have a next-gen console at the moment, I am limited to gameplay footage. He brings up a good point, it's fun to rice cars out and it's OK to drive if you turn your brain off, but it's worth watching to look at the insane amount of assist stuff and just weird physics/decisions.
