Basically. Steel's good stuff, but people shitting on it are either just attached to what they've always known (understandable), or they're the type who thinks shop class makes them an authority on the level of professional automotive engineers.

Not if you value your life or enjoy lower repair costs in low speed accidents.

try finding a car that looks better after the small offset test. nothing comes out of that looking good.

Because body panels are what save you.

No. Ford marketing is working overtime to make you believe that, though. Likewise, everybody else is trying to make you keep believe that Al is weak.

Personally I love Al. Strong, light, malleable, cheap, plentiful, recyclable. Al is truly God-tier metal. Steel has it's place, but I think manufacturers will eventually move to Al frames. The other companies' marketing teams are flinging shit to slow down Ford's sales so they won't get too far ahead while they work on their own future Al frame trucks.

Why?

Aluminum doesn't change the fact that the new F150 is ugly af.

Because the US NCAP or whatever it's called always test only the single cabs for economical reasons
It's bullshit anyway because trucks are made to be hauling shit and they don't seem to be carrying any in the bed during that test
