Anyone have any experience with this car? I'm looking at a DX thats auto and carb'd. 100k on odo. Is it hard to work on?

It's not that difficult untill you have to do carb work or mess with vac lines

Carb work is hard to do?

>>13658139
The carb itself is simple (to me)
It's getting it out because there's a gorillion vac lines and sensors and wires

You've dealt with carb'd 80's Honda?

Oh dam.

I have great memories of 86-89 Accords. My best friend's mother had a gold/beige sedan growing up, and I remember always being blown away by the popup headlights and the automatic seatbelts.

Yeah more than I ever wanted to

Damn, where's L24 then.
A bunch of us in the HG have carbs, and they're nightmares

I had a 86 civic 1.3 hatch
Devac'd it. Life was good after that.
Took some tweaking to get the idle right. And the choke never worked right.

I had an 89 LX-i

Best car I ever had. Would buy again.

Carb'd?

I had an 89 LX-i as well. The A20A3 is an amazing engine.

Another '89 LX-i owner here... and I still drive it. Pic related, I think the car is immortal.

Mine's a coupe with the 5-speed. Wish it was a hatch, but oh well.

Nope, LX-i is one of the fuel-injected versions. I'm not sure how much it affects longevity. It seems to be about an even split of carb/FI of the 3rd gen Accords I see on the street. That said, the 3rd gens are considerably rarer than the 4th gens.

As good as my car is, I'd not want an automatic version. It's the kind of underpowered that really needs a stick to be comfortable. I've not driven an auto of this exact car, but other old Hondas I've driven with automatics have been really sluggish and boring to drive.

Devac is def the way to go, much more simple and a lot more room in the bay once all that shit is out
>>13658100
Do a devac immediately and the rest is not too bad
