An Evo 8 or 9 for sure. Some kind of BMW if you are opposed to awd or must have rwd. Don't know what the best BMW you could get for under 20k though.

E39 M5 is gud, but lolvanos

335 is good, and you can get rwd or awd, but you'll deal with new BMW maintenance

G8 handles better than you'd think, especially if you find someone who's thrown a little (<$1k) at suspension.
