Its pretty much the same thing as MTV. Everyone gives them shit for not staying the same as they were in the 90's, but at the end of the day, they were just trying to serve another demographic. Lets face it; Initial D isn't some shiny new series. They want more people to watch, so they put music that younger, different people can and do enjoy.

While I see what you are saying, I slightly disagree. There are still new supereurobeat music coming out that they could totally use. No one is asking them to use Heartbeat. (although they should). But a large portion of the fans are the ones who walked the original series.
