Other than a private individual promoting the program, I don't have an issue with individuals studying atheism.

If public universities study religion why not study atheism as well? It seems better suited to be part of the religion department rather than its own department, but whatever.

I feel like it should all fall under a religious studies course, but I see your point. Honestly anybody who wants to study a specific religion should have to take classes for a few other specific religions, in order to pass.
