Balboa Ferry where I grew up in Newport Beach California.
>can only hold three cars max at a time
>takes forever to get on but is peaceful and super quick to get to balboa Island and the mainland from the Newport peninsula

Alaska needs faster ferries.

going anywhere on them takes all day. basically have to plan a whole weekend around going to the next town for shopping or other.

they're trying to do a ferry in melbourne from geelong to melbourne
takes 80 minutes and runs only twice a day
only a handful of people are riding it each day apparently
