Drops with interrupter levers are the GOAT setup. You have the option for braking when riding casually on the flats just as you do riding aggressively in the drops.

those are curvier looking than the nittos - are they comfier ?
>>
>42 or 44mm width
>round drops
>reasonably long ramps
I don't have a specific favorite, anything that matches my criteria above works well for me, I have especially good luck fitting old Cinelli bars.

>>935306
They're curvier than Nitto's base model (all the Compass/Grand Bois bars are made by Nitto btw), but whether they're actually comfy/comfier is completely up to personal preference (eg: I can't stand randonneur bars - at 38mm width at the hoods they're just too narrow for me no matter how they're bent).
>>
>>935199
Not the one you replied to but back in my old bmx days we would heat up our brake levers and bend them so we could get them exactly where we wanted the lever to be.... we had a few break but that was to be expected with crashes
>>
>>935195
Used to have these, and coming from a MTB setup they made sense to me at first. However I've since got rid of them and I have to say the cable action is a lot smoother. Plus they would get in the way of my lights.

Nittos are the tits. I love my Noodles sexy as fuck, comfy as all hell and pretty good for light single track duty in 46cm trim. Coming from a mtb background and having wide shoulders anything under 46cm feels narrow as fuck. Plus I sprint much better with wider bars
If your thinking about Nittos don't hesitate about the price, shits worth it. If there's a shop that carries them or know someone with them I highly recommend a finger fuck.

I plan on gettin a Nitro stem to replace my vintage 3T and Nitto racks. Trying to have everything on my Univega Japanese made.

I eventually want to get a vintage or USA made 26 SS just to mount a pair of Nittos on. I also want a few different pairs to make custom bick rack to hang from my wall and maybe to just use as art, yeah they're that beautiful. They're basically functional art.

specifically, the distance between the pointy bony parts of the front of your shoulders + 2cm

and it makes a weirdly big difference if they're sized wrong

the rest of the shape is more subjective, like saddles. some people probably hate the AVA rando bars that Jan Heine loves so much.

that's how handlebar sizing works if you're going for ergonomics over tite gapz. you aren't measuring from the outside of your shoulders and adding 2cm, you're measuring the distance between acromion processes and adding 2cm, which results in handlebars that are approx. as wide as your shoulders, which is the optimal fit.

if your shoulders roll in too much while you're cycling, it can be uncomfortable or even impede breathing. if the handlebars are too wide, you get more drag than you should.

I have had this particular handlebar setup for months now and i have zero issues with my breathing feeling constricted or anything like that, even when i am exerting myself

"proper fit" recommends like a 420/440 mm range, and my handlebars now are cut down to around 300 mm (12 inches or so). I've had zero issues. Wider handlebars feel clumsy to me now
