Crossrail 2 has been given the go ahead by the National Infrastructure Commission.

What the fuck is Euston St Pancras?
>>932087
This is actually great. I like how to the east it essentially emulates the Victoria line, then branches off at Northumberland Park to go to Cheshunt and beyond. A current dream for the Victoria line is services which stop at Northumberland Park somehow, well this solves it completely.

Because crossrail trains are so long (205m) and these stations are so close they essentially merge them together. You can exit/enter from either station.
Crossrail1 does the same with Faringdon-Barbican and Moorgate-Liverpool.St (pic related).

This is what Crossrail 2 should look like:
>>936904
>The next station is: Euston St Pancras, change here for Victoria, Piccadilly, Northern, Metropolitan, Hammersmith and City, Circle, Elizabeth Line, National, and international rail services.
Is there enough time between stations to even read this announcement?

Forgot Thameslink
>>937488
I imagine Crossrail/Crossrail 2 services would stop for a little longer to compensate.

>putting that many branches into a single 2 track central core and still expecting reliability and frequency
yeah, have fun with that, son.
also
>london gets /another/ new line
>nothing for the north, west, wales, scotland or ni
nice to know we're equal partners in this united kingdom :)

England should try to get independence from the United Kingdom.
>>937692
It would really help commuters coming from Surrey a lot. There are loads of commuters who come in from stations between Waterloo, Woking, Dorking & Guildford.
>>937741
Yeah, who can already get the train to Waterloo and then the tube. Meanwhile, there are still folks who can't even get the train or underground, or even buses...
>>938097
There are Northern/Bakerloo line extensions to reach out to some of those areas.
The areas you're talking about have trains, but they're not suitable for the large number of commuters. Also, anything beyond Hampton, Surbiton & Ewell West doesn't have Oyster/Contactless Coverage, so commuters coming from inland Surrey have to pay more just to commute to work in London.
