Is you friend a crackhead? And no, that's not a reasonable price for a downtube shifted piece of scrap that's been ridden to shit by a junkie.
Offer him 20 euro
really , schauff not even written on the frame. whatever, schauff´s bikes are mostly from 500-3000. Nothing special . If you are looking for a new cheap bike, offer him way much less, about 100 max.
also bike looks not ugly, but not cool either.
Are those collectible?

No. They made some nice frames and a lot of bike boom crap. This one har been repainted, and obviously ridden by someone with a very skin deep appreciation for it. That's assuming it realy is a Schauff to begin with, and that's a big assumption.

how could i tell if its really a schauff if i went over to look at it?
more pictures of it

pass on it.
seems like an ok beater, because it's been refurbished, but its clearly a low end bike. Definately not a 'racing bike' and it won't be lively or fast. The claw 'bolt on' derailer hanger is the tell. Decent frames have a integrated derailer hanger that the rear derailer threads into. The components are actually alright, but not great, having a square taper not a cottered crank is good. It is geared high so it wont be great for hills. Nothing looks worse than a black repaint, so i don't like it at all.
80 is a much more fair price.

Why the fuck would you care if it were? You don't even know what a 'Schauff' is, or why you'd want it to be one.
Did you end up buying this? It would definitely get you from A - B but of course it's nothing special.
