Every time i get into a PYBT and post my piece of shit, the thread soon dies. Let's hope it's not the case with this one.
Please rate and/or comment, i'm an insecure faggot blah blah blah. Yes, frame is a generic aluminium one, but it was great weight/quality/price.

Swapped my fork. It's not actually a Tora but rather a Suntour that the previous owner stickered up and I haven't got around to peeling them off. It's actually alright, no external adjustments but it works well as is and it's a lot stiffer than what I had.
>>
>>927793
how exactly did you "create" that bike and why are you living in Detroit, Michigan?
>>
>>927794
>those arent really track frames either

While I agree with you on that, sloping top tubes on track bikes doesn't make it not a track bike.
Sloping tt are used from time to time by pros for a smaller, more compact geometry (mostly in smaller frames). Some track frames have sloping top tubes as a result of an aggressive seat tube angle, especially seen in Japanese track bikes.

This doesn't even make sense.

The answer is because horizontal top looks look old fashioned.

Currently the fastest track bikes have horizontal top tubes for aerodynamics. There was a small insignificant argument that a compact geometry could make a bike stiffer, but stiffness really isn't a problem with modern materials.

I have had the awol only since monday so I have not had the chance to put a million miles on it yet. No idea how it handles cargo.

>>
>>927898
working as a messenger with my awol, installed a huge foodora box on the rear which weighs a lot. Had to true my last bikes rear wheel like every month or so and spokes broke often. I've had it since mid december and haven't had to true it yet.

It's built like a tank really
>>
>>927951
it's pretty easy, especially if you set your bike up so that you spend more time in the dropz, putting your hands closer to the shifters. never gets nearly as telepathic as ergos or sti, but sometimes it's fun, just as a change of pace.

barends and stem shifters can eat my ass tho.

Open for any 2 bolt pedal recommendations

I have had 0 issues with my Eggbeaters since I purchased them. Now I have 4 pairs of crankbro's pedals because I do not want to have a pair of shoes per each bike. Each purchased with 20%-25% off from Nashbar resulting in near $50 per pair which I could be mistaken, but that seems like a great price.

I am also a consultant and sometimes bike to businesses; showing up with clankers would draw more attention and look less formal than the shoes I currently have.

I do not feel a major difference in these wheelsets with tires/tubes/rotors removed and on the bike it's hard to compare. One is aluminum frame with steel fork and 32mm tires, the other is full carbon with 25mm tires.

If it helps, I would gladly buy this wheelset again for $150~ especially since my "hand built" Vuelta cx wheels arrived out of round and needing to be trued before riding and cost 2-3x as much.

Eye sore TT Bike. Got the module as seen with no wheels for $400 shipped off the internet. Team loaned me the race tubulars. Internal routing for the rear derailleur is shot so the full length housing is zip tied to the frame and then run the length of the downtube using duct tape and a MTB downtube guard adhesive. I didn't want to spend a lot of money on a bike I'll only race a few times out of the year, and I'm pretty happy with it so far. Mostly SRAM Rival. Uberhund one piece aerobars. Power meter from road bike. Boyd disk/80mm. Stoked to try my hand at our state TT this year.

Too expansive to change all my shifters and brakes. Besides, flat bars aren't that bad. It isn't a race bike anyway. It doesn't really matter if I become more aero or not. It has 38c tires and isn't the lightest bike (12 kg). If I really want to go fast, I'd infest in a road bike but I'm not really into racing so this is good enough.

yeah, those are a rig to get a forward hand-position. they're actually the hood/bar clamps minus the levers that came stock with the bike--so, standard drop-bar brakes. I used inner-tube rubber to jam into the gaps that the levers used to be in and then wrapped the whole thing with more rubber for a uniform surface. better thickness that way, too.

Fenders are VO. these are polished alu, but I'd go for chrome if I was gonna buy again for a more durable finish. my fork clearance was basically nothing, so there was another elaborate rig to install the front one.

>doesn't putting all your cargo on the front rack mess up the handling?

I personally hate having a lot of weight aft of me for city riding. sure it's more stable at speed, but in the city I'm never at speed for any appreciable amount of time. I'm much more frequently at a light, loading, or mounting/dismounting. all that weight aft creates leverage and makes your headset want to jackknife. with cargo directly under the pivot of the headset that you're holding via the bar, it's just not an issue. I do usually load up the rear anyway with 20lbs of dog food (current pic), just not on that trip. balancing a load front and rear works well, but if it's just one I prefer front.

you're potentially right about twitchy steering, though. But this is mitigated with a wheel stabilizer, you can kinda see it in the pic. (once again, I had to use an elaborate rig to install it due to frame clearance. lotsa rigs on this bike.) the stabilizer works great. you can feel a difference when she's loaded but there's no twitch, the ride remains really even.

I installed the baskets as low as I could for favorable center-of-gravity, so hopefully that helps a bit, too. may experiment with placement in the future.

Looking awesome.

I think you could make this bike look really good with a quill stem.

It would be a lot of work. I'd ride it for months as is, get the fit exactly right (try different stems), then go quill

When going quill, I'd get a new drop bar. Something without the ergo bend.

This is just to make the bike 100% internet bike porn. I don't think you need to do it, but it would take it to the next level.

Also it looks a little bit like your brake levers are up too high. Consider a shorter stem if you feel like it's hard to reach them or the drops

Great bike. I'm nit-picking . It looks awesome.

>>
>>929519
Not him, but there's absolutely no reason to buy aluminum cages. They do actually break. I'd seen more broken and bent aluminum cages than plastic cages, and if you desperately want a metal cage you can get stainless. Neither marks up your bottles with black stains, both of them are more durable. Metal cages have the small advantage of being able to tighten or loosen them, but of course this fatigues the metal.
