Made enough to buy all the parts for this, my second bike, a fixie. Local group I joined is going to loan me a brake until I learn how to properly skid stop. My advice: If you're going to build a fixie from the ground up, buy really nice parts. I wanted this to be a beater and my price ended up around 400~

I could give a review when they arrive to let you know if they're worth investing in but they won't be here for at least a couple of weeks (UK to Aus) and they're always going to be better than the Kenda cunts that came stock on the bike, so the review will be favourable.
Meh, just get 'em. Pretty pricey tho.
>>
>>900578
Yeah man, do it! They're pretty well regarded I think. Personally I swear by Michelins. Especially coming from kenda you're not gonna believe the difference. The value for money even vs Vittoria & Continental is nuts IMO

btw your order looks overly pricey. Have you checked the prices of that shit on chain reaction cycles? I think you could get the tires for like $80/set if you're american.

Yeah, I'm not going to use the brakes, cantilevers all the way.

I've completed San Diego to Portland on my cyclocross bike, so I was planning on buying a 46t chainring and just rolling with what I know.

Bought some cage bearings for the one piece crank in my dad's exercise bike. One of the cages broke open and half the balls fell out so it make a horrible squeaking noise. Looks like the previous owner sprayed WD40 in there washing off what little grease there originally was. Finally got to use the lockring tool I bought during the summer.

Ugly fenders are ugly, but to be fair they are designed to fit on a bike that is not designed to fit fenders. There were always going to be compromises there. If you only have one bike it should have been a more versatile one.

I ride a CHEAP SS to commute in a flat city. This month I've put the whole value of the bike back into it, unfortunately. I broke my chain mashing hard (also it was probably worth 5 cents) and replaced it with a SRAM PC1. Feels better than ever. I lost my SKS S blade fender in summer and finally got real fenders front and back. I also replaced the rear 28c thickslick I'd worn out pretty well with a 25c continental GP 4 season to try out something different. Also added some reflective tape on the frame. My bike keeps getting dorkier, but I really depend on it every day and it's smoother, safer, and hopefully getting less road debris in it. No flats so far with the conti, but I've yet to get a flat at all since I switched to puncture resistant tubes.
