The problem with modern pop music does not lie within the song writing or lyrics, but shitty production. True or false?
>>
This is largely true, but I'd also say there is a lot of shitty arrangement of songs as well.
>>
True to a point. But shitty songwriting is still apparent in a lot of popular music.

it's the opposite clean your ears

False. It lies with all 3 but to me the shifty songwriting is the worst, and the production is usually not bad. But most pop songs now are the same chord progression repeated with no variation. Basic shit

I was including arrangements as a production decision

False. Technological advances have upped general production values in music dramatically in recent years. It's why you get so many shitty examples of lyric/song writing - because a good provide can make even the worst music sound at least mediocre.

true. everything being clear ruins any challenge there is to understanding the sonic side of music and having an active part in listening to the music because every relevant instrument or sound is easily delivered to you by production that focuses too much on the individual parts being clear rather than putting the parts together to make the whole better.

*because a good producer...

Just go listen to "Toxic" by Britney Spears. You don't need super complex chord progressions to create a fantastic song.

There's no problem with moderm pop music whatsoever.

in all fucking honesty dude so are a lot of other genres its not just pop
>>
there was an insane drop in modren pop music quality in about 2013 where everyone thought all music had to have almost no instrumental with jazzy boogywoogy shit if it did.

it can all be traced down to the lack of 4x4/full tempo drums/house music style which seems weird since it was about the same time edm got big.
