Guitarists of /mu/, help me out! I'm gonna cover (live) this song and I need to translate this flute into a lead guitar.
How do I do that? Could I get some help?

There are few different ways to go about this.
1) you could use a synth pedal like the EHX Mel-9 to try to recreate a flute tone
2) you could simply put on an overdrive pedal and let it sing
3) turn back the tone and drive and try to go for a smoother, jazzier tone
There are probably better ways to go about this but that's what I would do

Just figure out what key it's playing in and then solo in that specific key. The whole point of a solo is improvisation anyway. So long as you stay in key it should sound all right.
