I don't know how many women you interact with and how many shows you go to, but as someone who interact with more than enough women I can tell you that in general they do have Plebier taste.
Though I know women who are as master race listeners as could be(even if I don't like the bands they like I can respect them at the very least).

I know girls with better taste in music than me, my ex used to listen obscure bands from all over the world that i would have never knew, what i believe os the problem is that girls or at least 80% of them have active social lifes, i cant imagine them wasting a saturday night lurking lists on RYM, i don't see them being abandoned in loomer apathy with music as their only contact with humanity, i do imagine them watching theneedledrop or pitchfork and knowing music by studying music theory but no more than that
