That doesn't mean it isn't melodic, it just means it's not as melodic as some things. And either way the majority of power metal focuses on melody. Even if there are some bands who who are less melodic, my point stands.

Guys, i can't go past Cast Down The Heretic on this album.
The song is fucking massive, it's just great riff after another, the tone is impeccable, Karl's and Dallas' carry enormous weight, the drums are rhythmic as fuck and the narrative of the song is not only very fitting for the sound, but it's phrased amazingly by the vocalists, and it's written pretty fucking well too, it's mythologically accurate and very descriptive
