What are some of the best prog rock / metal albums?
I want to dive into the prog.
Also I saw some people refering that prog metal is actual prog rock and their argument is that metal is genre of rock. Is this implication correct?

Music for this feel?
I don't agree with that implication. So many sub genres of metal around nowadays. Prog metal to me might reference like tech death? Gorguts album Obscura demonstrates that.
Prog basics are endlessly posted here. ITCOKC, Foxtrot, Fragile.. The list literally goes on
File is too big I can't attach it, sorry.
This is a great chart: http://i.imgur.com/zhkq6Um.jpg
These are the absolute prog rock essentials:
>King Crimson
>Yes
>Pink Floyd
>>66361686
after that you've got like Genesis, Rush, Jethro Tull, and the kraut scene like Can Faust and Neu but those are a bit different imo
>>66361686
>pink Floyd
>every song in 4/4
>prog rock
When will this meme die?
>>66361713
>prog is nothing more than unconventional time signatures

Atom Heart Mother and Meddle are classic progressive rock albums.
TDSotM, WYWH, Animals, The Wall fit more into the "art rock" genre (whatever that means).
