i always listen to the taxi driver soundtrack when driving around at night. i think it would work ok for walking too.

also the drive soundtrack is good.

also Bohren & der Club of Gore's first couple albums work well.

Taxi Driver soundtrack is a good choice, but I think it works better when the city's alive at night. My night walks usually happen around 4/5am when there's nobody around.
