Still a really solid album, it just needed an editor badly. People were just expecting more from him, that's all.
Honestly, cut Keep the Family Close down to 3 minutes and take out Still Here, Pop Style, Fire and Desire, Views and put Summer's Over Interlude earlier in the album, and it's an 8+

I think it's fantastic pop music and while I do get how the whole middle-class-depressed-white-teenager self-help lyrics are pretty cringey and populist, I do find them genuinely helpful and really uplifting. I do like Blurryface too but it's nowhere as good an album.

Flawless album, the best compilation ever. I agree, it's an essential Who album. Only way it could be better is if Pinball Wizard was right after My Generation.
What is it with the Who making the best albums of their type? Meaty Beaty is the best compilation, Live at Leeds is the best live album, and Tommy/Quadrophenia is the best rock opera (debatable, but it's one of the two).
