Hey mu, I'm kinda drunk and wanna listen to some sad slow music like pic related. What's some more good downtempo/slowcore/whatever the fuck it's called? I've listened to a lot of Red House Painters and that one Clarissa's Wierd album that's posted here a lot, but I wanna get more into the that kind of stuff
thanks familias

thanks man, this is the kind of thing I'm looking for
I really liked the violin at the end of the song, kind of used lyrically and expressed a lot

Codeine are essential. Little more loud/quite dynamics than most slowcore bands
Bedhead are essential too

Yeah, I've listened to Frigid Stars before and though it was kinda meh.
Maybe I'll just have to try them out again, I kinda felt that song more, but that may jjust be because I'm in the mood

im not really too into them either, though this track is great

White Birch is much much better, I don't know why FS is their go-to album.
It has such a trudging, defeated feeling to it, perfect music for when you feel like shit.

Some bands that are good that aren't on here are Songs:Ohia, Braving the Seabed, Bluetile Lounge, The String and Return, and Tacoma Radar
Thee More Shallows - More Deep Cuts
That should do ya. It's not exactly what you're asking for, but chances are you'll like it.

Love this shit too. Haven't been able to find anything I like as much as RHP but Carissa's Wierd and Arab Strap are both great. Alcoholic Faith Mission is pretty good from what I've listened to from them too. And a few of Smog's albums are considered slowcore I think, and are pretty good.

Is mark kozelek the only one who sings in red house painters? Been a fan of sun kil moon for a while but this is my first time listening to red house painters. medicine bottle in particular doesn't sound like him
>>66298551
this is pretty sweet, cool instrumentation
>>66298386
I've seen this album posted randomly, it feels more chill than sad though
>>66298818
I think I've seen this chart before but forgot to save it, thanks for the recs though
>>66298844
not really slow, but still feels super sad, reminds me of xiu xiu
Karate
>>66298992
Aww shit, I forgot about Alcoholic Faith Mission
I listened to them a while ago, but kinda forgot about them once I started browsing mu
Idaho are really good

Yes, he sings a lot lower in his Sun Kil Moon stuff
he was also still pretty young during the early Red House Painters stuff
Red stars theory - life in a bubble can be beautiful
Carissa's wierd - songs about leaving
I went to sleep to songs about leaving every night for a few months. Its beautiful
>>66299115
Oh shit you already said carissa's wierd in the OP my bad
Honestly coldplay - parachutes is great slowcore. Besides shiver and yellow all the songs on there fit the mood
>>66299055
no that's him. he sounded completely different when he came back with/as sun kil moon.
>>66299138
nah that's cool, I forgot the album name and was too lazy to search it so I just kinda mentioned Clarissa's Wierd
thanks for other recs though, I can't say I've listened to coldplay other than some of their popier shit
>>66299228
well popier as in more popular
>>66299055
Me again, thanks OP for making me finally listen to this album thats been on my backlog forever. Lord Kill the Pain really did me in
