I also really like TTNG and Minus the Bear but am looking to delve more into the genre.
What are your recs /mu/?

Most of the super mathy stuff in the vein of American Football is kind of shitty. It's really not the kind of sound that needs repeating. Algernon Cadwallader is solid, though, and I think I remember Two Knights being good (maybe just because it's been a while).

Most people with a mathy sound use telecasters, but it's not that important I guess. I have a telecaster knock-off it works fine
Try to find an amp with a clean sound and get your effects through pedals, I use vox

What pedals do you use?

Not him, I use a DL4 for looping and delays but there are better options than that desu. I use a MXR Bass compressor to level out my tapping, I use a Fuzz Hugger Arc Flash for overdrive and a Big Muff for fuzz the few times I use it. Whammy 4 and Volume pedal as well but I rarely use those. I'm playing an Ibanez Saber into a JC-120. Had a telecaster, but I sold it because of bills, putting together a new one though. Just waiting on pickups.
Any good emo/math rock recs for a stoner?
