because male dominated media wont pick up young women talent without some sort of aesthetic to back their career.
they aren't. it's the patriarchal white apparatus that has left women tied to domestic roles and away from the arts and other pursuits. once liberation started taking place we saw a rise on noteworthy female musicians (see 20th century avant garde)
