>>66159877
Comon, the 90s were definiately better than the 1840s.
00s > 90s > 80s > 70s > 60s
Not even joking, with every passing decade the sheer variety of great and well produced music increases exponentially. You can find music in the style of anything from the 60s being made in the last few years, but you'll never find Autechre or Kendrick in the 60s.
>>66160045
Kendrick's just a dime a dozen rapper that dindu nuffin new. Also, you won't find prime Sparks in the present day because people have lost the will to write lyrics that aren't slice of life urban youth tales.
>>66160160
Idk man, Sparks album with Franz Ferdinand feom last year was great.
>1900s: music created
this whole thread

Are you the same butthurt Eagles fan from the other thread?
>>66159640
For music? Maybe yeah
For virtually everything else it was god awful

Surely you're joking

can anyone give any evidence for all these high rankings of the 90s?

Same with low rankings of the 80s. Literally the most patrician thread, but I guess I'm not surprised /mu/ is this retarded.
90s > 60s > 70s > 10s > 00s > 80s
60s over 70s because 1967.
>>66160160
>Kendrick's just a dime a dozen rapper that dindu nuffin new.
>>>/pol/
>>66162464
I just love fuzzy guitars what can I say
>>66162851
It's not that I find the 80s particularly bad, just that when compared with new developments of the 60s/70s/90s they don't quite make the cut.
>>66162464
I ranked them second because I found the noise, post-rock, post-hardcore, and hip-hop scenes breaking a lot of new ground.
>>66162464
loveless
>>66162464
Alternative Rock, Indie Rock, Metal, Hip-Hop. These genres were pioneered and flourished in the 90s
>>66162851
Cheesy synths and shit, the death of prog, just not that much good music desu
70s were pretty great even if you're not a dadrock pleb
>progressive rock
>glam rock
>jazz fusion before it got shitty
>krautrock and the beginning of electronic music
>a lot of the best soul and funk
>>66163017
I firmly believe 69-73 was the greatest 5-year period in music history
>>66159877
Christ what a retard
>>66163012
Also electronic and the birth of post rock (Laughing Stock, Tortoise, Spiderland)
70s was the worst decade
DISCO CAME INTO BEING DURING THE 70s
if you like disco you're either
a. gay
b. a nigger
c. or both
there's also great disco like the beegees from the 70's, fuck the disco haters
>>66159761
ironically only plebs think this because they only scratch the surface of 80s music
>>66159640
Seven titties were, and are, better than six titties.
>>66163439
holy shit, go back to facebook
The 60s were not even that good if you're looking purely at the saturation of great albums. Other decades produced a lot higher quantity of good stuff, 60s just broke ground with regards to music production.
>>66163012
>the death of prog
This was for the best though.
>>66162830
t. rockist
>>66160160
Lel, Kendrick didn't necessarily do anything that hasn't been done before but he's made albums that have no real peers in history. His personality and idiosyncrasies are brand new to hip-hop and he's the polar opposite of generic. Also, actually using a real live jazz group on a hip-hop album is not common practice
>>66164267
Stop making him so unique. A great deal of "artists" who can't play shit use live bands.
