I love On Avery Island just as much as the next guy, but I feel like there will always been something special about ITAOTS that OAI just doesn't have. But I'm not saying OAI is a bad album in any sense.

What about April 8th? Baby for Pree? One reason I prefer this album is because of better vocals. And it is somewhat more instrumentally creative.

It's not widely agreed because ITAOTS has songs that relate deeply to each other and it all revolves around the Anna Frank theme, while OAI is mostly made up of standalone songs. Sometimes I like one more, sometimes the other. I love gardenhead for instance, all songs on OAI sound way creepier and more unsettling than the ones on ITAOTS to me.
