My girlfriend came home with one of these things one day, and the wow and flutter on that thing was fucking catastrophic. It gouged a canyon in at least two of the records she tried to play on it, and if you're going to make a player with a hinged lid, you don't fucking construct it in a way that the lid can scrape against the record if it's propped up at slightly the wrong angle yet almost tips the player itself if you just let it hinge back fully.
I told her to return the piece of shit within two days. I don't even like vinyl myself, but if she's going to pretend to like it, she's going to put some effort into presenting the illusion.
