Any audiophiles here? How can I get the best quality wav recording from an LP? My current set up has the TT running into the amp, then line out via tape jacks into my PC, where I record at a point so that the peaks are just below clipping.
is there a better way to do it? should I run TT right into computer and boost levels and RIAA curve EQ? or leave it the way it is? I recapped the amp in 2014.

Turntable > phono pre-amp > line in on audio recorder (which will make better recordings than a computer, i have a zoom h4n)
You want as little as possible inbetween the turntable and the recording device.
My phono pre-amp is an Art phono usb amp. You can regulate the volume from that.
you can edit your audio from audacity or other sofware on the computer.
