Post what you consider to be an album of the decade in this thread.
>meaning, post an album which is so inventive and quintessential to the decade that everything else released in the decade could be washed down the toilet and you would still be praising the decade for being the "golden age of music".
>>65998377
is this real? this looks like something you just made in paint...
>>65998363
lol
>>65998363
I would replace Art Angels with Visions.
>>65999200
Few care about that overlong album.
As if there is any doubt what history will call the album of the decade. Regardless what /mu/ thinks.
>>65998363
Shouodnt you post an example in your OP?
>>65999713
He posted it. Grimes - Art Angels, the album of the decade according to him. Stop pretending you're a retard.
>>65999749
I thought maybe he posted the wrong image by mistake.
>>65999749
Stop pretending music is important.
>>65999769
It was carefully chosen. He could delete the thread if he really posted the wrong image.
And btw, I don't understand /mu/ hating of this album. Y'all have shit taste.
>>65999808
>he
Sure it isnt "you" m8?
>>65998363
A 6/10 album = album of the decade?
Nah son.
>>65999871
It's def. not me.
>>65999892
this is kind of right if we're talking about pop. Clarence Clarity - No Now also applies.
I would say that Dean Blunt's Redeemer and Jason Lescalleet's Songs About Nothing are really inventive and have this "instant classic" vibe.
Georg Friedrich Haas - Limited Approximations.
>>65998363
>>65998377

No wonder people think this is a horrible decade.
>>66000038
So patrician xD
>>65999916
>6/10 album
You got that rating out of your ass?
It's more like a 9/10 album. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Art_Angels#Critical_reception
kek the waifufaggotry is strong in OP
that album is pure unfiltered ass juice
it sounds just about as bad as grimes looks and wew lad that's bad
>>66000038
idk maybe in vain for the last decade but Haas's other stuff seems a bit gimmicky, sure limited approximations has great moments but I feel like in vain is the only piece comparable to the 20th century greats
>>66000139
nice b80 m80
>>65999200
this would definitely be up there though
>>65998363
>>66000081
the album is shit and if your only argument for it being good is opinion of people who agree with you, you're an 9/10 moron
>>66000327
>the album is shit
According to whom?
>>66000347
people with good taste in music obviously
>>66000366

They decided it already: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Art_Angels#Critical_reception
And if you're implying that you have good taste: you're not.
>>65999200
this senpai
>>66000566
so all the albums with higher metacritic are superior to art angels. hardly an album of the decade
>>66000742
Deciding which album is the best it's a subjective thing. Assigning random numbers to albums it's also a subjective thing.
>>65999711
>Adele
>inventive
I think I can safely say I'm the only one who thinks this.
>>66000853
I only heard their followup, Earthborn Evolution, which I thought was fantastic. The Aura is really that good huh?
>>66000772
So the metacritic and critical reception post is irrelevant.
These kind of threads are pointless. Either explain your opinions or gtfo. By just posting the album, you'll either get "this" replies, "lol pleb" replies, or derivatives of these. Thats some reddit tier wankery.
>>66000896
Arguing about music is irrelevant and useless. Delete this board.
>>66000853
Damn nigga, you should really consider listening to other things.
>>66000879
I think it suffers from coming out at a time when the highly polished/clean Tech Death sound was/is a bit over-saturated, but yeah, to me at least the frontwardly placed fretless bass is gorgeous, the transitions are seamless and the playing is flawless.
There's literally no such album, there's a lot of great music but everything is inspiration . Stop being a kid
>>66000366
Meme but true
>>66000960
My initial post was kind of anticipation of this exact comment. I made an honest choice not a popular one and I guess in isolation it seems easy to you to extrapolate a lack of knowledge or limited exploration of genres. If you can rec me something better I'm oblivious too, by all means hit me, but if your pick is just something off the /mu/core conveyor belt then please refrain from making this kind of comment in future.
>>66001172
I don't mind people having a personal favorite, in which case I won't judge them. But if you think that that's really so much innovative/quintessential that's just wrong. there's literally nothing that special about it bro. And I listen to metal alot and I know these guys 3 years now.
Want a recommendation?

I'm not here to say my music is better than yours, I'm just saying be more critical about what you're hearing
>>66001433
>2005
Wrong decade, pal. Great album tho.
>>66000917
I'm over my shitpost narcissism.
>>66001473
lol I know he didn't say which decade though

This thread is about the current decade, I guess. That Shpongle album is FUCKING great, regardless.

>I don't mind people having a personal favorite
I'm not sure if this what you're implying but if you're one of those people that distinguishes 'my personal favourite album' from 'the best album' then this is just where I have a fundamental breakdown with this site and this general lens of criticism. There's really no difference to me as 'the best' is still defined by your own perimeters anyway, yet 1000 different people with different answers seem convinced of their own infallible impartiality. Anything I pick/rank/rate is based entirely on personal taste/satisfaction, I'm not concerned with notions of 'objectivity', canonization or legacy/influence/wider public perception. I didn't claim it was innovative/groundbreaking, by all means you could easily trace the lineage of their sound through Voivod, Quo Vadis and Cryptopsy and the like I just think this represents a perfect execution in coalescing these influences. If this wasn't what you were driving at all, then I apologize, disregard this entirely. Kind of wanted to vent on this anyway I guess. Also I dig the track; nice combination of tranquil soundscapes, breakbeats and bombast. Kind of reminds of World's End Girlfriend though I imagine the influence might be the other way around.
It's a tossup between this and Divers.
>>66002112
None of them are better than Visions. Not memorable enough.
>>66001472
What album is this?
>>66002146
Visions fucking sucks, and so does everything else Grimes did. she is literally a meme, and only creepy waifufags like her.
>>66002357
suck a pen15 creepy faggot
Look, honestly I'm trying to deliver a point which is just be more critical about what you're hearing. I'm not here to tell you how to judge your music because everyone has what they personally enjoy in music. I'm trying to imply that there are artists who will bring out what you enjoy in music way better than these guys I guarantee you, I doubt you would be putting an album like that if you heard things which are a bit more interesting, but let's stop with the wanking again, and just enjoy some great music. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S7N4bYStTeE
I just wanked by doing that. I know.
>>66001806
That is a reply for your comment
I need to leave this place
Either everyone is being completely ironic or its taste has fallen below /tv/'s
>>66002357
Grimes is Great.
This one
>>65998363
>>65998391
It's Kanye West's "The life of pablo"
I listened to it and wasn't really impressed. Alot of auto tune, alot of 'just decent' songs.
This album might be up there with the most overhyped albums on /mu/.
>>66000228
My pick too
Syro by Aphex Twin
>>66000228
Not a bad choice. The instrumentals are sound, but the guy's vocals are so trash. He sings like hes constantly having a rage orgasm.
What is this disgusting fucking taste ITT? Is this all bait?
Anyway, here's my pic. Amazing record that I'm certain will become a classic in a few years. It's from 2014.
