Why is he doing Sinatra cover albums? No one could possibly give a fuck about them apart from his most ardent dickriders.

At least Tempest was pretty good.

It is if you are a super-fan. Casuals should avoid.

It's worth it to hear how he worked, and how the songs evolved in the studio.
>>
>>65913422
Bob Dylan could make an album of him yelling at his dog and it would be renowned

But they good albums nigga

since when has anything Dylan done made sense?

Yes.

I can't remember which track, but there was one that sounded like an '80s power-ballad.

Who itt has seen Dylan live? Is it actually worth it? I don't want to be disappointed or disillusioned.
>>
>>65917125
Bob shows are typically pretty dumbed down, not a lot of fancy things going on, mainly just Dylan on stage singing his songs. And his voice is rough (which is to be expected). I'd recommend going to see him, if only for the fact that if you miss one chance, you might not get another

I listened to the whole of volume 12. Took like a month of listening to it at night while going to bed. It was great. It's really cool to see how the tracks changed as he went along. For instance Like A Rolling Stone is pretty interesting. For the first 3 takes his voice was like completely shot. He sounded awful, his voice was cracking and he couldn't hit any notes. Then out of nowhere comes fucking take 4 which is the take they used for the album.

Also I've been listening to Take 1 of Sad Eyed Lady of The Lowlands more than the official take recently. It's really good.

Also no I didn't buy it, I torrented it.
>>
>>65918251
Nah he is going to die in 2020
>>
>>65918228
How does someone doing an impression of him prove that he sounds the same all the time? His voice has changed a shit ton of times over his career.

Also I hate Jimmy Fallon but I love the fact that the song he's impersonating is a fucking Bob Dylan B-Side that nobody in his audience knows. I appreciate that.
>>
>>65918437
i think it was bait anon
also, Positively 4th Street is GOAT
>>
which album do I start with? should i proceed chronologically?
>>
>>65918713
If you want folk, start with The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan. If you want rock, start with Highway 61 or Blonde on Blonde. It would also be good to just start from the beginning, as he very quickly evolves and changes his sound in an interesting and dynamic way.
>>
>>65918713
no. start with Bringing it All Back Home.

If you like the Electric Side, then move forward to Highway 61 Revisted and Blonde on Blonde
If you like the acoustic side, jump back to Another Side of Bob Dylan, then Freewheelin, then the Times They Are a Changin.
After this you'll want to check out John Wesley Harding and Nashville Skyline.
At this point you should have an idea of whether or not you like Dylan.
After this, jump ahead to the mid 70s and work from Planet Waves to Blood on the Tracks to Desire. At this point you've seen folk Dylan, Electric Dylan, Country/Western Dylan, and whatever the hell you'd call 70s Dylan.

I say listen to the songs It's Alright Ma and I Want You. That way you get the best of both acoustic and electric Dylan. I Want You, to me, is pure magic put on record.
