I think OP is just shitting on the concept of self-titled songs on self-titled albums, not implying that all of the songs themselves are bad.
When I was young, I used to think that a "self-titled" album was one that the band was allowed to name, and that the record label got to name all the other. I thought it was wierd that they always named it after the band, and usually explained it by saying the band wanted their one album they got to name to have theirs, or they were just uncreative.
