what does /mu/ thinks of this album? is it as good as banana ?
I think it's a great album, with some good pop tracks in it but I prefer VU&Nico
Actually it's my least favourite from VU (with Lou Reed), although it's a record, very ~rocky~
According to me,Every VG release is < than Peel (Banana Album)
Full of pretty good song writing but probably not appreciated as much without the sometimes bleak, confrontionial edge of white heat and banana
If it was any other band it would be a little recognised 7/10. A few great tracks (Sweet Jane, Rock and Roll, Oh! Sweet Nuthin), but overall nothing special
I really love it. Definitely up there with TVU&N for my favourite VU album. I find TVU quite boring in comparison, while WL/WH unfortunately has The Gift.
Oh! Sweet Nuthin is pretty dope.
The Velvet Underground without John Cale is just an enjoyable pop group.
