I recently began an English 101 course and I've been tasked to write about how rap has evolved since the NWA days but is now seeing a return to form in some ways. What are some key moments/artists/albums that I should touch upon?

My teacher also seems to think she's some kind of progressive scholar by encouraging us to write about topics that don't really lend themselves well to scholarly papers.
