Unpopular opinions thread. I'll start
>Bitches Brew is Miles Davis' most overrated album. its essentially a poor mans Sextant by Herbie Hancock
I'm a girl and Lana Del Rey sucks & Atomic Bitchwax is awesome

Lana Del Rey sucks no matter what gender you are
>>65617503
"Im twelve, justin bieber sucks and metallica kick ass"
OPN > Ferraro
But that's really only because of R Plus 7, Replica and Returnal. His newest album sucked ass

Water babies is the best album from miles during 1966-69

>Water babies
This guy gets it
the best album of the strokes is comedown machine.
the best album of arcade fire is reflektor. actually others are total shit.

all opn pre 2010 > ferraro pre 2010
dont get me wrong most of both their outputs is mostly mediocre before they both started practicing the quality over quanitity. but ferraro has dozens of 2/10 albums
Sextant, while interesting is unfocused, tame and boring at some parts just like most of Herbie's output. Bitches brew is powerful, aggressive stuff that keeps it's raw character thoroughout.
Also, it's one of the few double albums that are actually good.

For sure dude. But Night Dolls definitely rivals Replica in my book but overall I would say that R Plus 7 definitely trumps anything that James has put out

Not Miles In the Sky? Please.

Spanish Key is the only song on Bitches Brew I can vibe to, while Sextant can actually keep me engaged through the entire thing. Don't get me wrong I love Miles' music to death, but I never could really get behind Bitches Brew

agreed 100%, bitches brew is like 4/10
no meme
>>65618040
Perhaps unfocused is a wrong choice of words as I feel it can also describe bitches brew.
Well, it took me a lot of time to finally appreciate Bitches Brew despite being a huge electric miles fan. But I am convinced it is a masterpiece. A chaotic one, but still a masterpiece. I don't think I can say that for Sextant. It's a great piece, but it just doesn't do it for me the way BB does.
But I guess that probably also has to do with the fact that I don't dig herbie that much.

I'm also willing to admit that comparing those two albums isn't the most accurate thing to do, but that's generally how I felt listening to Sextant after hearing Bitches Brew a few times. But I could also be biased because I love Herbie

Miami > Fire of Love
